Welcome to the Tuscany region of Italy, home to the manufacturing of our distinctive Ben mirrors. Tuscany’s diverse natural landscape encompasses the rugged Apennine Mountains, the island of Elba’s beaches on the Tyrrhenian Sea, and Chianti’s olive groves and vineyards.
Inspired by Belgian artist Ben Storms and his manipulation of materiality into striking forms, our Ben mirrors are undulating, hand-formed, Italian glass works of art.
Simply put, these are fine are pieces. Gallery worthy. The process for their fabrication involves a thick piece of glass which is slump molded onto an underlying form. Extreme heat from the kilne melts the glass onto the form. The glass is then silvered, and a distinctive etching detail is achieved where the glass reacts to the raised areas of the mold.
