WELCOME STATEMENT
Adventures catalog. This past summer, it was amazing
Global Works programs, and the organization itself, value inclusion in the truest and broadest sense of the word. Guided by this value, Global Works endeavors to understand and address the sources and the consequences of explicit and implicit bias. Global Works hires and trains staff to live out the values of equity and inclusion. For students, the Global Works commitment to equity and inclusion acts as a safeguard against marginalization, even in its subtlest forms. All students have equal access to the Global Works experience and its benefits.
to re-engage with many of our communities and friends during our programs. The pandemic has changed many things, but our basic human desire to connect with others, challenge ourselves, and be part of something greater is perhaps stronger than ever. There is a common saying among our illustrious staff at Global Works, ‘el cambio es parte del plan’ - (change is part of the plan). Travel teaches us to be adaptable, and that our most memorable life adventures and lessons often come when we are off the script (or itinerary). In those moments we find ourselves collectively in the moment. This is why we travel. So many new adventures and trips of a lifetime await us. We can’t wait to see you next summer. Yours in the Journey, Polly & Fritz Moriarty

Leadership
OU R T R IP LE ADER S , T HE Y ’ R E INS P IR AT ION AL ! With so many returning staff (about 85% each year), we feel our staff leadership is one of our greatest strengths. Global Works hires a diverse group of skilled, knowledgeable, fun-loving adults who organize and lead trips according to high standards of quality, safety, and of course, fun! They are leaders chosen for: experience working with students, flexibility, organization, language skills, cultural competency, a sense of humor, and responsibility. Additionally, the majority of our staff also works as professional educators and the average age of our staff is 28. With at least two adult staff on each summer program, we are able to achieve a sensitive awareness of the needs of our participants and communities. Most of our programs have an additional, onsite country director to serve as the logistical backup for our groups (while working closely with the Global Works Home Office in Louisville, Colorado). Each of our staff leaders must be certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR and participate in our annual staff training.
