February 24, 2011 Dear Summit Participant, Congratulations on being accepted to the 2011 GlobeMed Global Health Summit! You are among over 250 university students that will participate in the three-day Summit held April 7-10, 2011 at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. This year’s theme, A Call to Action: Leveraging History to Build a Movement, will galvanize our goal of creating a student-led movement for global health equity. The summit will feature keynote speakers Dr. Joia Mukherjee (Medical Director of Partners In Health), Joseph Amon (Director of Health at Human Rights Watch), and Andre Banks (Director of Strategy at Purpose). You will have the chance to learn from leaders in global health, academia, and philanthropy and participate in panels debating the roles of students and the private sector in forming a more equitable world. This Summit is an important part of GlobeMed’s strategy. You, along with your chapter members, will have the chance to present and discuss all the great work that you have been doing over the year both at your campuses and with your partner and project. As an important member of the GlobeMed network, your participation is a key part in building and strengthening a unified movement for improving global health. We look forward to seeing you in April! In Solidarity, The GlobeMed Summit Team
