MA Network (GMA) reinforced its strong showing in Urban Luzon with improved shares across all dayparts, based on data from Nielsen TV Audience Measurement in September. Urban Luzon accounts for 77 percent of the total urban TV household population in the country.
During the covered period (with September 25 to 30 based on overnight data), GMA’s household audience share in the area reached 41.7 percent, 8.9 points higher than ABS-CBN’s 32.8 percent. GMA led ABS-CBN in the morning, afternoon and primetime blocks, which resulted in an ever bigger total day advantage over competition versus the previous month.

hilippine TV’s Sweetheart Heart Evangelista-Escudero remains a loyal Kapuso as she signed another exclusive contract with GMA Network recently.
Heart considers being a Kapuso the turning point of her career. “GMA really was a huge help for me. I don’t know what would have happened to me if I didn’t move [to GMA]. It was a good decision,” Heart said.
Heart is very happy to renew her ties with the Kapuso Network. “To GMA, thank you so much. You gave me a second chance in everything. When I started with them, sobrang hirap ng mga pinagdaanan ko and binigyan nila ako ng pagkakataon. I really became the person I never thought I would be with their help,” she said.
Heart recently headlined the primetime series Juan Happy Love Story with Dennis Trillo. Doing the series, she said, reignited her passion and enthusiasm in her craft. “After Juan Happy Love Story, sobrang na in love ako ulit sa ginagawa ko, na-excite ako. Sobrang na-enjoy ko yung soap kasi very refreshing siya,” she explained.

Mark was discovered in the first season of the reality-based artista search Starstruck in 2003 and since then, he was given numerous projects which honed and developed his craft as an actor, host and performer. MA’s drama king Dennis Trillo bagged the Asian Star Prize at the Seoul International Drama Awards in South Korea - the first Filipino actor to receive the honor. The award recognizes and rewards Asian talent widely beloved by the Korean audience.

In his acceptance speech, Trillo, who recently top billed the Kapuso primetime series Juan Happy Love Story, dedicated his award to GMA Network, his family, loved ones, and to all the Filipinos.

MA Telebabad series Alyas Robin Hood is making waves in TV ratings. The Dingdong Dantes-led soap has been consistently winning in the nationwide survey since its debut last September 19. Alyas Robin Hood brings out the hero in each one of us, inspiring everyone that we can all serve other people in our own ways. Dingdong plays Pepe de Jesus in the series, a man who finds absolution in serving the community. Pepe, a prodigal son who becomes a lawyer, gets jailed after being framed up for the murder of his own father. MA Network presents “Oh, My Mama!” - a one-of-a-kind Afternoon Prime series that forges a connection with the viewers’ hearts.
The TV adaptation of the 1981 movie headlined by Diamond Star Maricel Soriano tells the story of a teenager who suddenly takes on the role of a mother to five street children while in search for her father’s love. Inah de Belen plays her first lead role as Maricel Reyes, a 17-year-old teenager who longs for the affection of her dad. As she searches for her father, Maricel crosses paths with a criminal group that kidnaps children to be used as beggars.

MA Network won four awards, the most for a Filipino company, at the 2016 Excellence in Multicultural Marketing Awards (EMMA) of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC). The awarding ceremonies were held during a special luncheon last September 21 at the New York Marriott Marquis in Manhattan, New York. Leading the roster of winners from GMA this year is the GMA Pinoy TV Van Wrap in Manitoba, Canada, which won 2nd place in the Out of Home category. This initiative was done in collaboration with Filipino-Canadian newspaper Ang Peryodiko in order to reach more Filipinos in Canada.

The 2015 GMA Pinoy TV Station ID, meanwhile, won 3rd place in the Television category. With its theme song sung by Kapuso West End diva Rachelle Ann Go, the station ID effectively highlighted GMA Pinoy TV’s mission of bringing Filipinos abroad closer to home. Also winning 3rd place are the GMA Pinoy TV Print Ads in Rogers Canada and the #MaGMAhalanTayoNgayongPasko: GMA Christmas Station ID Sing-Along Campaign in the Print Ad and Social Media categories, respectively. The GMA Pinoy TV Rogers Print Ads contributed to the increase in subscriber numbers of GMA’s three international channels GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV International via Rogers, while the #MaGMAhalanTayoNgayongPasko Sing-Along campaign proved to be an effective tool in strengthening GMA International’s ties with Filipino communities through the submission of videos online. The US-based NAMIC EMMA recognizes outstanding marketing efforts for culturally diverse audiences and customers of different race, gender, and other market segments. The Kapuso Village Integrated School is the biggest built by the GMA Kapuso Foundation for the survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda who were relocated to government owned acreage, in Tacloban.
The U shaped two-story school includes a toilet and lavatory in every classroom. The lower ground comfort rooms are fed by an easy to maintain rainwater catchment system to take advantage of the rainy season. The collected rainwater can also be used for the daily needs of the school like watering plants and cleaning purposes. Each classroom also comes complete with blackboards, students’ desks/chairs and two rotary ceiling fans for a learning-conducive environment. Water dispensers are also provided. GMAKF founder and ambassador Mel Tiangco leads the ribbon cutting at the inauguration of the Kapuso Village Integrated School. Tiangco is joined by local DepEd officials, school sponsors, Tacloban Mayor Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez and GMAKF EVP and COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog.

Guests at the inauguration ceremony include representatives from project partners Hanabishi (who provided all the appliances), Mariwasa (who provided all the tiles and ceramicware in the comfort rooms), Republic Cement (who provided the cement for the school) and Latter-day Saint Charities (who donated 740 brand new student desk/chairs). Rev. Fr. Andres B. Guban, SVD, officiated the blessing of the classrooms.
