GMA Network Stays Ahead of Competition in Urban Luzon and Mega Manila 2 Urban Luzon and Mega Manila account for 77 and 60 percent of all urban TV households in the entire country, respectively. From November 1 to 30 (with November 23 to 30 based on overnight data), GMA recorded a 36.8 percent total day household audience share in Urban Luzon, surpassing ABS-CBN’s 31.1 percent by 5.7 points and TV5’s 8.8 percent by 28 points. In Mega Manila, GMA posted a 37.8 percent total audience share, up 9.3 points from ABS-CBN’s 28.5 percent, and 28.5 points from TV5’s 9.3 percent.
GMA Network (GMA) kept its over-all ratings lead in the viewer-rich areas of Urban Luzon and Mega Manila in November, based on data from Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.
In NUTAM, GMA more than doubled its afternoon block lead over its closest rival, ABS-CBN, to 7.6 points from its 3-point lead in October. In November, GMA scored 37.8 percent, higher than ABS-CBN’s 30.2 percent. The airing of the Pacquiao-Algieri fight on GMA7 was the highest rating program (including specials) in NUTAM, Urban Luzon, Mega Manila and Urban Visayas, leading all other programs in these areas.

Atty Felipe L. Gozon, GMA Network’s chairman and CEO, celebrates his 75th year this December. To make his diamond natal day doubly memorable, he released his autobiography, “Felipe L. Gozon, an autobiography: How GMA Network Became No. 1”
With a Foreword written by Dean Pacific Agabin (Chair, Constitutional Law Department, Philippine Judicial Academy), the book is a fascinating read for those in the legal profession and in the media industry. The chapter devoted to FLG’s most memorable cases is practically a case book on various legal issues while his narrative on how he steered GMA into a most profitable, multi-awarded television network that it is today makes for a comprehensive Broadcasting 101 reference material. For those who know of FLG’s fiery temper and strict work ethic, his gentle and loving side might come as a surprise. But indeed, the theme that ties the entire book together is his rock-solid commitment to
love and honor his family. Being a dedicated husband to Mrs Tessie Gozon, a nurturing guiding light to his three children (Annette, Philip and Maritess and their respective spouses) and a loving, indulgent spoiler to his grandchildren (Anja, Andy, Raffy, Basti, Bono and Fort) seem to be FLG’s secrets to the boundless success he is currently enjoying. FLG’s life story may well be the Kapuso Network’s history, too – one full of connections and relationships that come from the heart, but not without trials and other challenges. The important thing is to rise above each and every challenge with unquestionable integrity and unwavering faith in God.

Miggs Cuaderno Wins Best Actor Award in France Kapuso child actor Miggs Cuaderno was hailed Best Actor at the 20th Chéries-Chéris Paris Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in France on December 2. Miggs was recognized for his outstanding portrayal in the movie Quick Change. Miggs is currently part of Tropang Potchi which airs every Saturday before Sarap Diva on GMA.

GMA presents 2014 Christmas Short Films
Now on its 9th year, the annual film festival carries on its tradition of presenting heartwarming and uplifting stories that embody the essence of the Yuletide season, with each film showcasing how Christmas is made more meaningful because of the people we share it with.

The iconic Jeepney and the wealth of relationships attached to it figure in this year’s short films, lending a distinctly Filipino element to each story. Kapuso artists Benjamin Alves, Bettina Carlos, Kevin Santos, Joshen Bernardo and Miguel Tanfelix play central roles in tales of inspiration and hope. GMA also encourages its viewers to share the love this season with a unique feature
Regalo is the story of a beloved Yakult lady, Nay Lorna, and how a community she has been serving gives back that love. Indeed, every good deed, big or small, creates an impact in our hearts. Regalo features Miguel Tanfelix and is produced in tandem with Yakult.
GMA partners with KFC for Sorpresa - the story of a young doctor who leaves his comfort zone in order to serve in a provincial hospital and attend to underprivileged patients. Separated from his family, Doc Louie finds a home away from home through a patient and his family who give him a heartfelt surprise on Christmas Eve. Kapuso hunk Benjamin Alves portrays Doc Louie in this feelgood film.

Young onscreen sweethearts Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali topbill Once Upon A Kiss, slated to air in the first quarter of 2015. “Malaki po ang pasasalamat namin sa GMA dahil sa second chance na ibinigay sa amin ni Bianca. ‘Tis the Season to GMA GIVES recently held activities that teach the value of sharing love and joy.
GMA GIVES IN TVET SOUTHVILLE 7 GMA GIVES, the Network’s core of employee-volunteers shared love, joy and hope through a Christmas outreach program on December 12 at TVET Southville 7, Calauan, Laguna.
GMAKF REPACKING True to its credo of “Serbisyong Totoo,” GMA Kapuso Foundation prepared for its disaster relief operations even before typhoon Ruby hit land. Repacking was done in the GMAKF warehouse in Manila, GMA Cebu, Calbayog City in Samar, the Kapuso Village in Tacloban and GMA Network Center in QC. Five hundred (500) children were thrilled with the entertainment numbers, games and raffle prizes prepared by GMA GIVES employee-volunteers.Toiletry kits were raffled off during the program and bowls of arroz caldo were distributed to the children by GMA GIVES, all donated by GMA employees and talents. Kapuso star and Tropang Potchi mainstay, Nomer Limatog, also brought Christmas cheer by singing two songs. Chummy Chum Foundation also supported the activity by giving away popcorn, crayons and coloring books. Chummy Chum mascot shared also a dance number, which delighted the children.
