Jaclyn Jose is Still A Kapuso Internationally acclaimed actress Jaclyn Jose signed another exclusive contract with GMA Network recently. “I’m happy kasi third time GMA 7. with ko na itong magrenew Hindi ako nawawalan ng trabaho at hindi ako pinapabayaan ng Network. Masaya talaga ako kaya tuluy-tuloy tayo bilang isang Kapuso. I know everyone here at family ko silang maituturing,” shared Jaclyn. Jaclyn is part of the upcoming drama series “The Cure” alongside Kapuso stars Tom Rodriguez and Jennylyn Mercado.

Speaking about her being a Kapuso for almost 21 years now, Tiangco only has kind words to say about her home network. “Kung gaano ako kasaya noong una akong pumasok sa premises ng GMA, ganun pa rin ang kaligayahan ko hanggang ngayon. Unang-una, sapagkat napakabuti sa akin ng mga namumuno sa GMA, at lahat ng aking colleagues dito, mga kasamahan,” says the veteran broadcaster, who also hosts the award-winning drama anthology Magpakailanman.

Chynna Ortaleza Signs with GMA Artist Center Versatile actress Chynna Ortaleza – Cipriano recently renewed her management contract with GMA Artist Center. Chynna rose to fame via GMA Network’s successful youthoriented program ‘Click’ in 1999 and did several notable projects as a Kapuso. Chynna is grateful for the love and support that GMA has been giving her. “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve already been part of GMA, so parang it’s my family na talaga and I don’t think I’d like to go anywhere else. I’m very happy and comfortable in GMA,” Chynna said. Apart from acting, Chynna also co-hosts Idol Sa Kusina. She is also a creative writer.

GMA News pillar and multiawarded news anchor and radio host Mike Enriquez is looking forward to more years of ‘Serbisyong Totoo’ after renewing his contract with GMA Network on February 13.

Enriquez, who is the only Asian and only Filipino so far to win the Best Newscaster Award in the Asian Television Awards, co-anchors GMA’s flagship news program, 24 Oras, and hosts the investigative public affairs program Imbestigador. He is also heard on Super Radyo DZBB’s programs – Saksi sa Dobol B, Super Balita sa Umaga Nationwide, and Imbestigador sa DZBB.

For the full month of January (with January 21 to 31 based on overnight data), GMA registered winning numbers in the National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) with an average of 43.7 percent total day people audience share, beating ABSCBN’s 38.6 percent. The Kapuso Network reigned supreme across all day parts in NUTAM. In the morning block, GMA recorded a 42.3 percent people audience share versus ABS-CBN’s 35.4 percent. GMA’s afternoon line-up, which garnered 47.3 percent, was way ahead of rival network’s 36.8 percent.

Continuing well into the evening block, the Network maintained a leading share of 41.5 percent as against competition’s 41.2 percent. The Kapuso Network similarly dominated all time blocks with bigger margins in both Urban Luzon and Mega Manila, which respectively account for 76 and 59 percent of all urban viewers in the country. In Urban Luzon, GMA registered a total day people audience share of 49.2 percent; besting ABS-CBN’s 32 percent. Likewise, in Mega Manila (with official data from January 1 to 20), the Kapuso Network upheld its strong showing with 51.9 percent total day people audience share while ABS-CBN only managed to get 28.5 percent.

GMA Network is off to a strong start in 2018 as it secured the top spot in nationwide television ratings in January, based on data from Nielsen TV Audience Measurement, the industry’s widelytrusted ratings service provider.

Audience Measurement Nielsen data is gathered through a greater number of sampled homes nationwide in comparison to Kantar Media. With approximately 900 more homes surveyed in Total Urban and Rural Philippines compared to Kantar, Nielsen data is statistically considered more representative of the total TV population. In 2017, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement increased its client pool to a total of 41 clients/subscribers consisting of 12 local TV networks including TV5, Aksyon TV, CNN Philippines, Net 25, Solar Entertainment Corporation, Viva Communications Inc., among others; 5 regional clients; 2 blocktimers; 21 agencies (18 media agencies, 2 consulting agencies, 1 digital agency); and 1 advertiser.

Two Women Fight for Family and Love Step into a world of beauty and love amidst rivalry and conflict in GMA Network’s new Afternoon Prime drama series, The Stepdaughters. Headlining this drama are Megan Youn and Katrina Halili, together with Mikael Daez. Megan is Mayumi Dela Rosa, a beautiful and intelligent Chemistry graduate who dreams of creating her own makeup product line. Katrina is Isabelle Salvador, an only child (spoiled) who manages her family’s makeup line, Coco Bella. Mikael is Francis Almeda, a handsome and smart head product engineer. He meets Mayumi and falls in love with her despite Isabelle’s incessant prodding for him to love her instead.

Mayumi and Isabelle never liked each other, more so after Mayumi’s mother, Luisa, and Isabelle’s father, Hernan, get married, making them stepsisters. Alden Richards Holds Successful Show for Pinoys in Australia Alden Richards revelled in the company of the Kapuso Abroad in Sydney, Australia as the Pambansang Bae kick-started GMA Pinoy TV’s series of international events for 2018. Fans of the Kapuso heartthrob from the United Kingdom, United States, and New Zealand flew to Australia for a chance to personally meet and take photos with their idol. The show, entitled “Alden Richards Live in Sydney”, was held last January 20 at the Evan Theatre in Panthers Penrith with Kapuso comedian Betong Sumaya adding fun and entertainment. It was the duo’s first time to set foot in and perform in The Land Down Under.

GMA Network will confer two awards – one for the best Communication student and another for the outstanding student of a technology based course. Each winner shall receive P50,000 and a plaque.

GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) has once again received support for its projects this year from the Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation (PCCF), one of the biggest Filipino charitable organizations in Ontario, Canada. PCCF, a regular GMAKF donor since 2010, will provide assistance to GMAKF’s projects such as medical missions, feeding programs, and donation of school supplies which are also in line with PCCF’s pursuit to help poor fami­lies and calamity victims in the Philippines. The PCCF party, led by their Executive Vice President Rosemer Enverga, turned over their donation to GMAKF Founder and Ambassador Mel C. Tiangco and

GMAKF EVP and COO Rikki EscuderoCatibog last January 26 at the GMA Network Center. Every year, key members of the organization provide aid to their beneficiaries in the Philippines which come from the proceeds of their various fundraising activities in Canada. Their

major charity event is Pinoy Fiesta Toronto which showcases Filipino beauty, values, and culture. The event, which is also in partnership with GMA’s flagship international channel GMA Pinoy TV, is said to be the biggest indoor Pinoy Fiesta in North America.
