C O N S T R U C T I O N
A classroom project where I developed non-woven surfaces inspired from banana flowers using different techniques of fabric manipulation like darting, pleats, quilting, dyeing, machine embroidery and many more.
INSIDE OUT THE PYRAMID This project was the part of advance weaving module where I learnt the advanced weave structures. As my inspiration for the course I took pyramid exterior as well as interior. All my samples were planned and woven considering the colours, form and surprise elements that are hidden in pyramids.
Considering my inspirations I developed different types of art work . The art works were developed using different mediums and colours and also they were abstracted and simplified to an extent that they could easily be woven and turned into a fabric that gives the essence of my inspiration.
Finalising the art works ,I moved ahead to abstraction and simplification. And just taking essence of my art work I made my final artwork and transferred it to graph paper in order to find out the accurate weave structures to gain that effect.
For my final sample I combined two different types of weave structure , double cloth and extra weft. Accordingly considering my inspiration I tried to maintain the mysterious character of egyptian pyramids. As the final woven sample is double cloth so both the sides of the fabric is different.
SURFACE DESIGN This project was a part of the module basic print where I learnt how to make a print repeat.Taking rainbow cassia flower as my inspiration, I created a print repeat later converting them into a screen printed surface.
MAPS AND MEMORIES This project was a part of module advance print, where I took maps and storytelling as my inspiration and accordingly I did so many explorations in that direction and came up with a collection of 4 different types of surfaces that tells stories of their own.
PALACE OF HELIUS This print talks about the love story between Helius (the sun), Luna (the moon) and earth.
SEASONAL ORCHARD Fantasy has got the power to make us feel lively and joyous in the most difficult times of our life. It generates a hope in us, which never dies. This concept showcases how Mother Nature has been destroyed and instead of the green trees now the entire streets and land are filled with planned inorganic houses, cottages and industries.
CITY OF COMPASS Selecting myself to become owner of my inspiration, I thought of making the city of compass. This city includes of different types of compasses and charms that can make your dreams come true. City of compass because compass is one of the most important element of maps and what could be better than controlling the world where you reside having the compass that listens only and only to you.
GRANDMAA’S KITCHEN BACKYARD Our grandma has always been a very important part of our childhood stories. She is the one who is the source of our hope and love that we share with the world. Our grandmother are one of those herbal doctors ,who without studying or any sort of training knows so much about plants that they create their own home remedies. This print talks about that story only.
PAKO DOKA We never really grow out of our childhood stories but simply we can say the same stories grows and mature with us ,flourish and become more strong with passage of time, framing the character of our mind and making us the person we are. My collection talks about one of such stories that my mother told me when I was young to make me fearless and find beauty and positivity in all the things I come across. Through my collection I want to give the world something personal yet universal.

EXPRESSIONS OF ORGAMETRY Though we humans have segregated organic forms and geometry as two different ways of visualizing and looking at things around us , but we cannot run from the fact that the source of evolution of both the things are same . Through ancient civilizations , if we observe carefully we can easily see that both the natural and geometric forms combines to bring dead things to life ,look at the sun the round ball of fire and light when combined with the random organic rays and clouds brings prosperity and wellness to the beings on earth. Look at those layered triangular mountains ,which holds those parallel running waterfalls that touches the muddy flat earth and turns into those zig zag curves that we call as rivers. The creepers , the trees , the ocean and sand , everywhere where our eyes could reach ,the unison of what we call geometry and organic forms gives birth to life. This collection , named – The expressions of orgametry , talks about that unison where organic forms meets the geometry to generate life , love , hope and songs of happiness that heals us spiritually.
