Random Double Matrix Question #1 May 1, 2001: In honor of International Double Matrix month, I thought I’d post some random Double Matrix questions with video solutions. These questions are very popular on the GMAT, so if you want a solid score, you’ll have to master them. What’s a Double Matrix question? It’s a question that involves a certain population where each member of that population has two characteristics associated with it. Questions that fall into this category can often be solved using the Double Matrix Method. For an introductory lesson on the Double Matrix Method, please watch the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWD2t5jCCZQ Afterwards, you can try solving the following mid-range data sufficiency question: All members of the Travelers Club have been to France or India or both. The Club has 80 members, and 30 of those members have been to France. How many members have been to India? (1) 10 members have been to both India and France (2) 20 members have been to France but not India Once you’ve tried the question, you can watch the video solution below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsCeqF9Kbk8 Written by Brent Hanneson at www.GMATPrepNow.com
