Parisian-themed bar offers stylish creativity
One of the prettiest places to dine in Las Vegas has to be Vanderpump á Paris. The brainchild of Lisa Vanderpump, husband Ken Todd, daughter Pandora Todd and designer Nick Alain, the space is a French-inspired bistro with wild, extravagant touches.
“Opening Vanderpump á Paris has been a labor of love,” said Vanderpump. “After living in France for so long, I am so happy to bring something to Paris Las Vegas that feels so decadent and authentic. We’ve been able to bring Paris to life within an iconic Vegas resort, and you’ll immediately feel transported to the sexiest bar in France.”
One of the draws of Vanderpump’s restaurants in California and at Caesars Palace are the cocktails. Here, a wide variety issues forth from a long, marble-topped bar, on which stylized lamps resembling ornate umbrellas rest. Order the signature Louvre At First Sight, and a hickory smoke-filled glass pyramid will be opened to reveal a colorful drink with mezcal, prickly pear, lemon, jalapeño honey and orange bitters.
For appetizers, Les Cages Aux Folles brings an artfully arranged birdcage full of cheese or charcuterie to your table, with goodies like Camembert and Truffle Tremor, perfect for spreading on toast. The stuffed Vanderpump baguettes are artful little baguettes with brie, truffles and truffle honey. The Ménage a Tomates presents sliced heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and fried green tomatoes with whipped goat cheese.
Larger appetites will appreciate crispy chicken confit, butter prawns and coq au vin pot pie. The Cast Iron Filet is delivered with a cognac pink peppercorn reduction and roasted pearl onions. Vegans (and everyone else) will love the Cast Iron Ratatouille, with slices of market vegetables like eggplant and squash covered in a tomato ragout.
For dessert, the daring may want to indulge in a dessert cocktail or order a more substantial sweet like the Grande selection, three sweet dishes on a marble tray—try Le Grand Puff, a croquembouche mountain with caramel and crème anglaise; rose eclairs; and the mousse au chocolat bites. –Nina King
