Our aim is to obtain maximum market insights about the present and the future of the feed industry and to share all of those insights with all our partners who are supporting our initiatives in business development. We have seen great potential globally and we would like to realize that potential together with our stakeholders worldwide!

About the Market Report

GMP+ FC scheme has a global presence and there are currently more than 18,500 certified companies in 87 countries. To maintain our market and to expand it is very important that we take a closer look. We therefore decided to compile this market report to harness our business development strategies in building a new market, grow market share in specific countries and make sure we retain existing certified companies.

Market reports were compiled per country in order to: 1. Understand the background, including the economic, political, social, environmental and legal situation. 2. Identify production capacity with regard to the entire feed supply chain, livestock and by-products. 3. Know the position of each country in terms of trading (importation and exportation). 4. Obtain an update on the most recent developments, including new market ventures, legislations and market trends. 5. Assess market feed safety awareness and feed safety culture. 6. Identify which external support groups need to be developed and/or built. 7. Decide which market approach (regional/national) and strategy (build, grow, consolidate) are appropriate.

Selection of Countries

We selected the countries based on market development for animal feed production and signals we received from the feed industry. We have closely monitored news and updates, and followed feed and livestock associations and companies operating globally. As a result, we have been able to reduce the number of countries from 87 to 50. The list of countries is available in Annex 1, including regions and market strategies prior to our MABA analysis.

In the market report per country, support services like laboratory, transhipment, storage, affreightment and transport are included. However, the data are limited - the sector remains conservative about providing public information.

This summary therefore focuses on the production and distribution sector related to the production of animal feed (ingredients) and food, specifically livestock products.
