WELCOME DEAR SUMMIT PARTICIPANTS, Welcome to the 10th Annual Governor’s Utah Economic Summit. This conference will be a valuable learning and networking experience for businesses of all sizes. We are highlighting topics ranging from top-level mergers and acquisitions to small business management and cutting-edge technology. This year’s theme is Innovate Utah! Our tradition of innovation continues to propel us forward. Even though Utah is a relatively small state in terms of population, it is among the leading states in the nation economically. Pollina Corporate Real Estate named Utah the No. 1 Pro-Business State, and Business Facilities magazine ranked Utah No.1 for economic growth potential. Gallup polls show Utah has the highest job-creation index score in the nation, as well as a population that is most optimistic about their state’s economy.
Governor Gary R. Herbert State of Utah
In Utah, we have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, which generates new ideas and promotes a work ethic that drives our economy. When we take the time to make connections and build partnerships, we improve our economy and overall quality of life. Other states are, in fact, looking to our example of collaboration—the key to our success. I am confident you will leave the 10th Annual Governor’s Utah Economic Summit with new ideas to take your businesses to the next level. Congratulations on the success you have already achieved and best wishes for maintaining that trajectory in years to come.
Sincerely,
Gary R. Herbert Governor, State of Utah
