Cameron University provides a diverse and dynamic student body access to quality educational opportunities; fosters a student-centered academic environment that combines innovative classroom teaching with experiential learning; prepares students for professional success, responsible citizenship, life-long learning, and meaningful contributions to a rapidly changing world; and is a driving force in the cultural life and economic development of the region.

Cameron University is a regional, public university serving Southwest Oklahoma and a global learning community. The University is governed by The Board of Regents of The University of Oklahoma within a state system coordinated by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Cameron University offers associates, baccalaureate, and master’s degree programs.

Cameron’s mascot is Ole Kim, an ex- Cavalry officer who sought his fortune in the Wichita Mountains gold rush of the early 1900s before becoming a cowboy, and then a Cameron student. He first appeared as a drawing of a cowboy in the 1955 yearbook, then was given the name “Ole Kim” in 1960 during a campus newspaper contest.In 1964, a costume was created for the home coming parade and a tradition was born. From 1969-1992, more than 25 students portrayed Ole Kim. After going without a costumed mascot for more than a decade, CU revived the tradition in 2004, when a new costume was commissioned. Ole Kim remains a popular figure on campus!

Shepler Center, comprised of two ten-story high-rises, provides Cameron students with a more traditional campus learning environment.

Cameron Village combines all of the amenities of an apartment complex, the convenience of on-campus living, and the opportunity for involvement within a living-learning community of like-minded students.

Cameron University’s Office of Campus Life facilitates programs that provide opportunities to connect to the institution and empowers students to have an enriching university experience.

ROTC: Out of more than 270 colleges and universities that offer ROTC, Cameron University Comanche Battalion is ranked in the top 15% in the nation and maintains the highest ranked program in Oklahoma.

The intramural sports program offers students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to participate in many sports and activities, including flag football, basketball, golf, soccer, and more on a competitive and recreational level.

The Programming Activities Council plans events for students throughout the year like Welcome Week, movie nights, Grocery Bingo, weekly activities, and Homecoming events!

The Aggie Rec Center promotes and encourages the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle by providing tools and opportunities to achieve each individual’s personal fitness goals.

The Student Wellness Center provides services that enhance the physical and mental health of students. Services include medical care for acute conditions, mental health counseling, and more.

Greek organizations consists of three fraternities and three sororities that allow students to find social fellowship on campus among other students.

Student Government Association provides a platform for students to have their voices heard and interests represented by student elected officials.

The Cameron Aggies sponsor 15 NCAA Division II athletic programs and are a proud member of the newly expanded Lone Star Conference, which is now at 19 member institutions. The 15 CU teams include men and women’s teams for basketball, outdoor and indoor track, cross country, tennis, and golf as well as baseball, softball, and volleyball. The Black and Gold have a long-standing tradition of excellence, and have won a remarkable number of conference and regional championships as well as nine national championships.

Cameron’s athletic facilities consist of the Aggie Gym, McCord Field (baseball), Streich-Henry Family Tennis Complex, McMahon Field and Athletics Center (softball), and the Terry Bell Golf Center. All events are open to the public, with free admission for tennis and baseball, and CU students and staff get in free at all events with a valid Cameron University ID.

THE CU PICKAXES ARE CU’S VARSITY ESPORTS TEAM. WITH A 50 PERSON ROSTER, THE PICKAXES ARE COMPETITIVE IN OVERWATCH, LEAGUE OF LEGENDS, ROCKET LEAGUE AND SUPER SMASH BROS. THE ESPORTS ARENA IN THE ACADEMIC COMMONS IS A STATE-OF-THE-ART MULTIMEDIA GAMING FACILITY WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE GAMING PCS, ANNOUNCING BOOTH, CONSOLE GAME AREA AND SPECTATOR SEATING.

MORE THAN 300 ONLINE + HYBRID COURSE OFFERINGS. CAMERON’S ONLINE COURSES ARE DELIVERED IN A HYBRID FORMAT VIA ZOOM AND BLACKBOARD.

Cameron University holds a 2+2 articulation agreement with RSU to make the transfer process seamless for those who earn an AA in Elementary Education at Rogers State University. After students receive their AA in Elementary Education, they are prepared to transfer to the Cameron program on the Rogers State campus. Students seeking admission to the Cameron education programs at RSU should apply to Cameron as transfer students.
