Chapter 1 ”In the Landscape“ Architecture will be vernacular after long time passed with emviroment. In this chapter, I introduce the various relationship between architecture and landscape. In the project of “Misato under the Junction”, I tried to preserve a landscape by putting the icon which is making imagibility of satellite town. In the project of “Hourglass Housing”, I described the curved line on the stripe pattern which is made up of conifer forest in order to design the contrast architecture with landscape. Like that, to create a clear image to the site, I think about the aspect of landscape.

Concept This project is a site specific museum under the junction. Site is “Misato” , one of satellite cities in Japan. Recently, Misato is competing with the other satellite citeis. Therefore, The townscape is varied by redevelopments since 10 years ago. Then, I forcus on Junction. The shape of Junction matches the enviroment. They have a landscape as On the other hand, Misato has the biggest junction in Japan. The aim of the project is making a urban image by designing the place under the junction. In this project, I focuses on the shape of Junction and the nature under the junction. I design “Roads” and “Rooms” under the junction. six site specific rooms to find the phenomenon with walking.

Landscape Behaviour The site is in the heart of mountain. Architecture is floating in the conifer forest. Conifer forest can grow up in the strong wind. Wind behaviour makes forest behaviour. Forest makes architecture behaviour, architecture makes people behaviour. Environment behaviour makes people behaviour. And It will be landscape as site specific.

I pay attention to the warp which all thinned wood. Raw lumber is warped and various. The warp lumber is the more the value is. Such a wood have more value By varying such a wood to planters. In this proposal, I design the planter which have a crack by thinned wood get together. Like a dandelion which grow up between crack on the concrete road, various weeds can be raised from crack for long time. Mixing Weeds and thinned wood which are necessary for society, the planter become a mass of green, and that make a oasis in the urban.

Chapter 2 ”Like a Movie “ Architecture produces the spaces like a movie, as with Le Corbusier making [Architectural Promenade]. In the “Cultural Spectacle”, I suggested a circulation to let people walk to the various areas and several heights. In the “Student Dorm in Belleville”, I deisigned different voids in five buildings to make a dramatic path in the 80 meters depth of site. Thus, as we regard a circulation as movie, we can design the dynamic sceans,

Kontext

It is most important for me to design the depth as 80m. So, “Depth and extension is enumerated as a key word that creates the system for that. It is the building of five houses towers on the site of 80m. It makes voids as many as two units of the block. This system makes the depth if the voids are same between the building and the next building. Or it makes the spread if the voids are out of position. Voids space have no function basically. And it is public space that everyone can use freely. So voids make the students a free activity and tie up the each buildings.

Chapter 3 ”As a Home “ In the case of house, It is so important to think about activity of inhabitants. Because house have a strong commitment from people. So, house’s feature is created by thinking about lifestyle. In the case of “House with One Room×3”, hiside-light and one room make a ordinary comfortable. On the other hand, “House with Long Table” suggest the detail of activity in the house to make new lifestyle for ‘two income family‘. As just described, We can design the feature of house by thinking of living activity. And it’s speciality for inhabitants.

2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013

The time between parents is necessary to child care. In the modern age, It is very difficult for them to share the time by different working condition. Even if they are at home, they act apart. Therefore, I suggest that they can share the time in the doing different activity by using Long Table. This house is made up of a room having a Long table and rooms which enclose to long table. Each room change Long table into some places. For example, Living, Dining table, Study desk, and hobby desk so on. The man who is next to eating child read the book, And at next to that, She work at domestic affairs. Like that, inhabitants can share the scale=1/120 time by Long table.

Concept As there is the type of “nLDK”, basically we think the house as room of number or function. Such a demand indicate that ordinary family is exactly thinking an individual’s time as important. However, long time ago, Is house one big room which family live in together originally? In such a condition, Every family interferes each other in the room, and they make a special rule and manner, and built the relationship between at home. Therefore, I design one big room aiming such a lifestyle. Two places where quality called “family room” and “individual place” by weaving in many angles of a big box are located in this room. Family room is a big room freely extended in the inside of a house. This room

is a buffer belt which makes the suitable distance and distance of individual place, and is a place for both families to live. On the other hand, individual place is a small place which has Family room and slight distance with the wall of one sheet, and slab. Family room and individual place among So to make an internal and external boundary ambiguous, have a duty which draws external elements, such as light, and green and a wind, and colour the inside of a box richly. Moreover, individual place has a deference by having big window and owning each scenery. Between such a room, inhabitants will find each favourite places and a family’s relation changes every moment.

Chapter 4 ”For Critic “ It is possible for architecture to raise a social problem clearly and indicate a resolution. Also in the modern age ,it is essential for architect to doubt a value is right or not as Adolf Loos raised problem of decoration. In the project of “Ueno Art Museum”, I doubt a way of exhibition room for modern picture and sculpture in the condition of Internet society. In the “Beyond shelter”, We raised a dangerousness when the great earthquake happen in the huge urban. Like that, architecture can raise a social problem.

Concept Recently, the value of visual arts is spreading by Mechanical Reproduction. The drawing by Ryu Murakami can be copied by any people. And we can get that image in Internet, and print out at ease. Like that, now is one condition which Original is not different from copy. In this condition, The value of art museum in where people can see a original art is disappeared. I pay attention to this problem. In this project, the exhibition space varies every moment to drive a characteristic which art museum have and environment context and urban context. It replaced the place in where people can see a original with the place in where people can encounter a art dramatically. As a result, the theme in this project is roof which can catch the direct light.

Concept
In Mar.11.2011, East Japan great earthquake happen in Tokyo. With disaster, traffic is paralysed and many commuters unable to get home appear on the road. Someone went home by foot, someone waited for train service till that restarted, and someone rest in the near temporary shelter. After we recognized such a vulnerability in urban, they considered the existence system again. This workshop was started from such a point. Our group paid attention to the number of commuter if

disaster happen and our campus become a temporary shelter. The number is calculated by a ward office. We drew disaster map with focusing on the case of Midorigaoka area. As you see, people in this area can’ t move at ease. And we can imagine people will be in the panic. This case is not only Midorigaoka. If it is high density capital like Tokyo, such a condition happen in the urban exactly. We disclose the reality in urban when huge disaster happen clearly.

Contents of Duty
This project is a proposal of the enforcement competition which participated at the Okuyama laboratory. The team was composed of six persons and, first of all, we researched in the site and members proposed some ideas individually. Finally we focus on structure of the waiting room which connects from plat home to plaza in front of station. Like a Tomioka where is famous for the silk-reeling industry, the spool was used as the motif. The trass structure like a balancing toy is stabilized by pulling with a tension rod like silk. Simultaneously, the Tomioka silk manufacture place is reminded by using brick for a floor and a wall pillar. When making a presentation board, I took charge the creation of 3D modelling, main and sub perspective, and the diagram of light.
