32 SURYA, MITRA, MITRAAVARUNA,: Mitra is the friendly Surya as it rises after the Usha/dawn revealing friendly light that does not harm the eyes and presumably produces Vitamin D as it comes in contact with the skim and is a friend for his life nourishing properties. The mode of worship is saluting this Mitra with folded hands/ Namashkaar.

Twelve postures of Surya NamashKaar Mitra (Lord of light radiations) is a prominent deity of the Rig Veda distinguished by a relationship to Varuna, the protector of Rita/cosmic rhythm/order and stability and observances of austerity/Vrata, the sustainer of mankind. Together with Varuna, he is counted among the chief Aadityas, a group of deities with social and co-lateral scientific functions. They are the supreme keepers of order and Devataas of the rules. The next two in importance are Aryama and Bhaga/Supreme Brahma. Varuna and Mitra are often twinned as MitraaVaruna (a Dvandva compound). In the Vedic hymns, Mitra is often invoked together with Varuna, as Mitra-Varuna. In some of their aspects, Varuna is lord of the cosmic rhythm of the celestial spheres, while Mitra brings forth the light at dawn, which was covered by waters/plasma by Varuna. Mitra together with Varuna is the most prominent deity and the chief of the Adityas in the Rig Veda. Though being Asuras, Mitra and Varuna are also addressed as Devataas in Rig Veda (R.V. 7.60.12), and in the only hymn dedicated to Mitra, he is referred to as a Devataa (mitrasya...devasya) in R.V. 3.59.6.

R.V. 3.59 is the only hymn dedicated to Mitra exclusively, where he is lauded as a Devataa following rita, order and stability and of observances., the sustainer of mankind, said also of Indra in R.V.3.37) and of all Devataas. Sukta 3.59: ---

Those individuals who obtain your means of protection never be hurt by any one. Those who offer Havies in Yagna for your sake are kept away from sins. 3) “Hey Mitra Devataa (of light)! May we be kept away from the diseases, be made strong by Anna/food. We offer to follow austerity as prescribed by Aaditya by kneeling before you on this expanded Prathivi. We request Aaditya to keep giving us favor. 4) “The powers Aaditya lies in the beautiful light and is the owner of all and is worthy of salutations with folded hands/Namashkaar. The ceremony of Yagna begins as soon as he reveals himself. I (Vishwanitra) /Yajamaan aspire for his favors and feeling as for children from Aaditya. 5) “Aditya who is the originator of the great Lokas (Trilok) at Creation needs to be worshipped. He is pleased when praised by eulogizers. Hey eulogizers. Mitra Devataa is worthy of being praised. Offer pleasing Havies in Agni for his sake. 6) “Mitra Devataa sustains the Manushyaas (followers of Manu) by rains and his powers are indicated by Anna/particulate food, etc., wealth, renown and knowledge. Rigvedic hymns to MitraaVaruna are R.V.1.136, 137, 151-153, R.V.5.62-72, R.V.6.67, R.V.7.60-66 (cited below), R.V.8.25 and R/V/10.132. need updating. Varuna stands for oceans in Antariksh in Trilok and is the lord of Aakash being part of Surya/sun resides in Aakash, of Rasa/waters/ plasma/Soma etc. (all forms of water element) in oceans in the white hole cum black hole at Creation rides the vehicle Makara/crocodile. His weapon is Pasha/ lasso/ Varuna.

Both Mitra and Varuna are classified as Asuras in the Rig Veda (R.V.5.63.3), although they are also addressed to as Devataas as well (R.V.7.60.12). In post-Vedic texts Varuna became the Devataa of oceans and rivers and keeper of the souls. Varuna is also a Devataa of the dead, and can grant immortality. Varuna is also solar wind in Antariksh..

Since Mitra and Varuna become visible after the Usha/dawn) as observed from our Prathivi/biosphere, both are worshipped soon after dawn :Mitra by Surya Namashkaar and Varuna by offering water. At first the photon of light radiations begins to penetrate the radiative zone of 300 000 km thick, the density is so high that the photon has trouble moving it from ever colliding with other particles such as atoms and ionized hydrogen helium. The increase of the photon is chaotic. It is called by scientists, the photon random walk. The photon is absorbed by atoms and reissued immediately, back and forth is repeated millions of times. As in so far as it goes up to the Sun's surface, the density of matter decreases, there are fewer collisions and interactions, it advance is much less complicated. When there is more than 200 000 km from the surface, the photon enters the convective zone and the pace is accelerating, the photon is pushed outward, aided by the bubbling of the material. Captivated by huge columns of gas, then it must not only ten days to reach the Sun's surface. The photon is finally emerging from gas of the solar atmosphere. Then it takes only 8 minutes to cross the 150 million miles that separates our planet yet.

The hellish journey of the photon: this particle, created in the solar core carries the light rays to the Earth. To do this it must go through the different layers of the Sun, the radiative zone and the convection zone, photosphere, chromo sphere, and finally the solar corona.
