Session A: 5 Tuesdays Feb. 13 - March 12 6-9pm

Saturday April 20 10am-2pm

Session B: 5 Tuesdays April 2 - April 30 6-9pm

Metals are typically joined with a hot solder method, but it also possible to use a cold connection technique. Rivets are not new as the origin predates solder. Rivets are simply solid or hallow fasteners. Cold connectors, like nail head rivets, can be simple or complex, visible or hidden, large or small. By utilizing nail head rivets you’ll increase the range of solutions for an assortment of joining projects. Finish this workshop with a completed riveted bead ring to wear for your next night on the town!

Explore the essential techniques for metalsmithing and silver jewelry. We will cut, shape, and join metal with hammer and flame, and various other tools. Finish this class with a custom sterling silver pendant, and a healthy dose of artistic confidence. $272.25 / $231.41 (member)
