QUICK GUIDE TO CHEFCHAOUEN After visiting Morocco for the first time back in May, I knew I had to return. I had fallen in love with the beautiful country and there is so much more to explore! Chefchaouen has always been on my bucket list for years after seeing mesmerizing images on Instagram and everyone should visit once in their lifetime. I did not get a chance to visit my first time in Morocco because of how far it is from all the other major cities we were visiting at the time. Back in September, I decided I had to return to Morocco and made my dreams come true! Here’s a quick guide to Chefchaouen and everything you need to know! Chefchaouen is a city in the Rif Mountains of northwest of Morocco and known for its beautiful blue buildings, also known as “The Blue Pearl” or “Blue City”. Not many places live up to its expectations but Chechaouen truly has. The old town makes you feel like you’re in another world, with bright-blue buildings, colorful Moroccan decorations, and narrow streets will have you feeling mesmerized for days.

HOW TO GET TO CHEFCHAOUEN
•Public Transportation – Train is the best option, check the ONCF website for train schedules from your destination. •Hire a driver – You can easily hire a driver from Tangier or Fez but make sure to negotiate! •Drive – I drove from Casablanca to Chefchaouen with a rental, which took me 5+ hours and it was not the easiest drive through the mountains.

WHERE TO STAY
•There are plenty of great options in Chefchaouen for very cheap prices. The riads are some of the best authentic experiences to have. Riads are traditional Moroccan homes or palaces turned into a guesthouse. •Hotel Casa Miguel is where I stayed. It was a cute riad, centrally located and breakfast was included •Dar Median has a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the Rif Mountains and breakfast is included
