The vision of our Design Director Clive Sparkes is to bring a sense of light, space and wellbeing into all areas of peoples lives and to realise the versatility and ethereal beauty of glass This vision keeps Go Glass Design ahead of our competition as we continue to set trends and fashions for high quality interior glass design. His glass designs take inspiration from botanicals, geometrics, the human form, transport and organics

To create an individual feel to each of the themed rooms in this boutique Cambridge hotel Retaining light and a feeling of space glass doors, showers and mirrors forms each of the roomy en-suite areas
Beautifully Bespoke
Formally known as the Railway lodge, the new Orlando hotel in Cambridge underwent a complete renovation which included each individual room having a uniquely designed glass en-suite enclosure Working alongside the hotel’s owner, our in house designer Clive Sparkes used his own personal and unique vision to tailor each design accordingly to each specific room providing a wow factor to the new boutique hotel
LED Lit Glass
Glass designer Clive has created a glass design process in which a sketch of any image is etched onto glass and edge lit with LED lighting Light travels through the glass and will be held by the etched design The seamless LED display combined with the beautifully bespoke designs creates a unique effect for glass features such as the Orlando’s beautifully designed rooms
Themes at the hotel included trees, dancers, chess pieces, a motorcycle and petrol pump, an accordion and even the original railway lodge signage Etching using shading techniques allowed Clive to produce designs which provided both decoration and privacy
Increasing space
Frameless glass doors and showers help to increase the light and space in any room and there is no restriction on where they can be used To increase the space in the 8 rooms, sliding glass shower doors were chosen to maximise space in the en-suites and the use of Easy clean Eco glass means that showers will retain their clarity even in hard water areas like Cambridge
The Brief
To design and supply a glass botanical perfumery and planters for the Silver Gilt Medal winner at Hampton Court Flowe show sponsored by Crabtree and Evelyn
The Design
Working with garden designer Jade Goto and Garden House Design, our designer Clive Sparkes was given the brief to design two modular glass buildings which could be erected and dismantled for the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show The show garden titled ‘The Botanical Studio’ was inspired by the traditional ‘Still Room’ and embraces the scents which are familiar with Crabtree and Evelyn’s products Clive is not unfamiliar with incorporating elements of nature and the human form into his work and this project was no exception The studio was to embrace ‘the riches of the natural world, introducing product ranges made with fruit, flower and plant essences ’
The Structure
Clive has worked with glass architectural design for over 30 years and his expertise in the industry provided the foundations for the structural design for the buildings Using 12mm toughened glass for the walls and 18mm Toughened Laminated for the roof, all held together with copper sprayed stainless steel clamps Secured in place using a balustrade base shoe system hidden from sight by the black decking

Our PROCESS
Initial design consultation
Each one of our glass designs has been hand-drawn by our Design Director Clive This design is then vectorised or turned into a line drawing which is scaled to fit the size of your door Before we move to the etching process, we send a proof drawing to you for approval
Your glass door is bespoke and unique to you
Your glass door is cut to size, polished and toughened before being quality checked by our production manager Our design team then plot your design onto a vinyl resist which is "weeded" to remove the parts of the design which will be etched The glass door is now ready to be sandblasted using our state of the art glass sandblasting machine The glass door is then cleaned down and is coated with a Ritec Clearshield polymer coating which keeps the door looking as good as the day it was installed

The final stage is the packaging of the glass door and fittings ready for dispatch
All of our fittings are sourced from quality suppliers and each door is supplied with easy to follow installation guides Our design team are on hand to help you every step of the way
