Personal Statement
My design approach is designing building that is strongly related to the existing site context, program and user. In this case, site analysis plays an important role to understand these aspects in depth. Basic analysis of the surrounding such as sun and wind analysis are necessary to ensure the building have achieve suitable comfort level for the users. The study of site context can be huge. It has included physical condition of site, operational characteris of neighborhood, legal constraints and characteristic that convey “meaning”. Characteristic that convey “meaning” including the research of landmark, community gathering places or centers and historic features at proposed site. By understanding the preference of activities and programs of the existing users. it can be used to further analyze the preference of existing users in term of habit and behaviours. In the city, buildings exist in relationship to their street and immediate vicinity. A good understanding of context, assists to create buildings to complement the immediate vicnity and capitalize on a site’s best assets without impacting badly on the neighbors and street. The urban environment is created by a series of overlapping natural, cultural and built factors. Site analysis is important to understand key urban elements of the existing and future proposed context. It also helps to understand the main opportunities and constraints affecting the site. Besides that, the important factors to be included in the design response that will support the existing and future desired context. The direction of site analysis, affected by the program. For example, we have been assigned to design a market building at Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur, as the program is mainly influence by user themselves, we focus on study the places that will attract crowds, the circulation that users prefer for shopping experience and etc. Throughout the degree course, I am most interested in doing modulus design. The one architect that makes me look into the modulus design is Japanese architect, Shigeru Ban, who is famous in building using paper and temporary shelters. It makes me realize that a good building does not defined by how it looks but it depends on user experience. As most of the cities now are undergo fast develop process, modulus space has becoming a trend too. As the interesting part of modulus space is that eventhough it looks exactly the same as the others but the function of it has been manipulated by the users themselves. The benefit of having modules space is that it is cost saving, easy to build in large quantity and fulfill requirement of the users. The field that I am looking into is the urban infill design. It becomes important in this case as it is going to represent the image and characteristic of the cities. That is a sentence that I have been told, “ The biggest fear is that you do not feel you are belong to here even though you should belong to here.” Neglecting context during design stage for any buildings should not be done. In conclusion, my design approach is designing a modulus space in relation context, program and user experience. Site context will always be my reference and guidelines for designing space or buildings.

Textile Museum / Kuala Lumpur building introduction
The National Textile Museum, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, fist began its construction in the late 19th century . It was built alongside the Sultan Abdul Samad building and was completed in 1896. The architect, AC Norman designed this building to house the headquarters of the Federated Malay States Railway. In 1917, the building was then given to the Selangor state government and became Selangor Public Works Department. The faç ade was given a facelift to harmonize with the Islamic style of the adjacent government buildings. The 2 and a half storied building was gazette on 13 October 1983 as a heritage building. Under the 9th Malaysia Plan between the years 2006 to 2010, the Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture through the Department of Museums Malaysia managed the implementation of the project ‘ Proposal for Conservation, Interior Design and Display for the National Textile Museum Kuala Lumpur’ beginning August 2007 until its completion in Jun 2009. The museum was opened to the public on the 9th January 2010.

concept inspiration
That is an interesting finding throughout the site analysis, which is users always prefer to walk inside crowd and stays in narrow street. Such behavior is that a more narrow space will create an illusion of crowd, and people will be got attracted and follow the crowd. This human behaviour has been noticed and further analysis by looking through narrow streets around chow kit such as chow kit market, backlane walkway and etc, to find out the space that can be defined as Narrow.
Site Plan nts Analysed Narrow Space
ASSIGNED MARKET SITE
The analysis has been further analyzed by studying massing of the stalls. The stalls has been deconstructed and simplified to simple geometry form to study the possibility of usage of the massing model. These stalls can be convert to other usage such as exhibition area and resting area. These study diagrams also inspired to insert void into market to create indoor and outdoor feeling.

Interview Through interview students around the area, they believe literature is a form of art too, but people neglect it as it is in passive form.
School Program Students are free to explore by themselves to create own scripts for school performance and competition.
Child Library The 37 years old child library has rich collection of books but it has been wasted as library does not accept visitors above 4 years old. Strong connection can be formed between child library and literare art centre to allow users that have mutual interest in this field has a place to gather.

Youth
Youth is not a time of life - it is a state of mind, it is a temper of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions, a predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over love of ease. Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years. People grow old only by deserting their ideals. Years wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, doubt, self-distrust, fear and despair - these are the long, long years that bow the head and turn the growing spirit back to dust. Whether they are sixteen or seventy, there is in every being's heart the love of wonder, the sweet amazement at the stars and starlike things and thoughts, the undaunted challenge of events, the unfailing childlike appetite for what is to come next, and the joy and the game of life. You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear, as young as your hope, as old as your despair. When the wires are all down and all the innermost core of your heart is covered with the snows of pessimism and the ice of cynicism, then you are grown old indeed. But so long as your heart receives messages of beauty, cheer, courage, grandeur and power from the earth, from man and from the Infinite, so long you are young.
The Youth of Today
Our modern world is changing, and everyone is busy blaming the youth of today; But how can we blame the future, when it was us who made their world this way. Our street corners are full, as our children think that it’ s okay to walk into the darkness with a knife; When did we stop teaching our kids that the greatest ever gift, is quite simply LIFE. Footballers earning a million pound a month, whilst children in Africa sit crying their hunger pain; Pier pressure is weighing down our future generations, as they begin to buckle under the strain. Our children are now living in a virtual world, with MSN, Facebook and Twitter, they no longer need to speak face to face; If only they knew time was so valuable, and a lost childhood is the one thing that no one could ever replace. Girls desperate to be thin, as their air brushed idols kneel at the toilet throwing up their breakfast, lunch and tea; A silent generation sits texting on the latest mobile, whilst playing their PS3. Faces hide behind hoodies, but not all youngsters want to go out and cause a riot; Each of us is born with a hidden gift, but our future children have just forgotten how to find it. We are leaving a broken planet to our children’ s children, whilst our Governments just spout hot air, adding to our global warming; With the worlds ice caps still melting, and our wildlife slowly disappearing, this is starting to sound more like a global warning. Older generations demand respect, but its one way traffic, as respect back is something they do not show; Instead of teaching our children how to fly, we tie them down with yet another ASBO. Frustration and neglect flows through the streets of this concrete jungle, the one place that we now all call our home; Bullies and racists still torture their victims, leaving them to cry in the shadows, all on their own. Plastic surgery changing bodies, changing faces, as the years pass the dreams we all had as children slowly fade away; Before long the dawn of a new generation will begin, and no doubt
Journey of defining How to be inspired to write poem "I am inspired by anything that emotionally and intelectually attract my five senses," - Richard Eric Johnson "there is nothing more inspiration for writing than oing to a poetry reading or conference and being surrounded by other who are as in love with language as you are," - allison wilkins
Journey of questioning "I write whenever the moment grabs me-most often while i am observing, listening or reading something or someone. I am mostly inspired by others' art, nature and human experiences throughout life-my own and those of others." - nadine stanford "A gorgeous nature scene or a great injustice, either spectrum excites my desire to write," - Jane Herschlag "The world around me, my personal life, eavesdropping, my dreams and the books i read," - Jane Herschlag
