SUMMER 2025 PROGRAMS & FEATURED COLLABORATIONS:
The Summer Students Deserve
Putney has been the leader in educational summers for 74 years. Families continue to choose our programs because they find their students return home having grown in profound ways. By ushering students out of their comfort zones and teaching them to embrace what is new and different, all in a safe and supportive environment, our programs develop thoughtful and wellrounded leaders.
Originally founded by our grandparents and now in our third generation of family leadership, we continue to curate innovative programs that foster experiential, intellectual, emotional, and cultural engagement. We invite you to join us this summer!
Olivia & Becca Shumlin Co-Directors
“I was finally able to come out of my shell on this trip. I made friends for a lifetime, and had some of the best experiences of my life.”
— Sophia L., Carmel, IN
The Putney Difference
Seven Decades of Experience
Our students benefit from impactful, intentionally designed programming and a global network of friends, communities, and partner organizations that has been cultivated over seven decades.
Family Leadership
In an era where educational summer programs increasingly are owned by venture capital firms, we‘re proud to be a third-generation, female-led family organization.
Outstanding Leaders & Experts
Our highly qualified leaders hold expertise in the destinations to which they lead, as well as the unique ability to inspire and support students. Many have advanced degrees and take time away from successful careers to lead because they believe in our mission.
Lasting Benefits
Our programs instill confidence, maturity, and passion for cultures and ideas that are new to students—benefits that extend far beyond summer, serving as springboards to forge their future paths.
Exceptional Safety
Our exceptional safety record gives families comfort and reflects decades of experience working with students, institutional knowledge, and expertise in risk management.
Immersive Fun!
While our programs have ambitious educational goals, our founders, Olivia and Becca’s grandparents, believed that you learn best when you’re having fun. Putney has always made learning fun and we can guarantee that’s not going to change in our 74th summer.
