Driving Tour at Red Rock State Park
Driving Tour & Picnic at Red Rock State Park
Saturday, July 16
No part of our state is more beautiful than the spectacular Red Rock Country surrounding Sedona. This drive’s destination is Red Rock State Park, a 286-acre nature preserve and environmental education center with stunning scenery. The driving route will take the “back way” toward Sedona, avoiding the congestion that is inevitable on the main route.
At the end of the scenic drive we will enjoy a lunch buffet at the park. After lunch you will want to check out the park visitor center, where you can explore the exhibits and view films which present Sedona history and wildlife, and which will take you on a flying tour of the red rocks with some phenomenal aerial scenes. You can explore the trails, spy for wildlife, or just enjoy the beautiful scenery. When you are ready to leave the park you can go into Sedona for shopping or other activities, then return on the Red Rock Scenic Byway to I-17. Or you can drive back on the less-heavily traveled but still interesting route through Cornville back to I-17.
