R ETRO What goes around comes around, whether it’s in life or in fashion. A little bit retro with a nod to the mod is the perfect way to honor our fashion history. 3. D OTTY When a photo of Miss America was published in 1926, it was more than her swimsuit that caused a stir! The now iconic polka dot twopiece set the stage for dotty fashion. 4. N AUTICAL STRIPE Everyone knows France is a fashion capital, but surprisingly, it was the French Navy that inspired Ms. Coco Chanel to introduce her nautical collection in 1917 making stripes high fashion. 5.
