Born into the business is a much overused expression but for Nicole Daley it is an exact description of how she came to be in jewellery. The daughter of Bill and Pamela Hannaford, who founded 5th Avenue Jewellery, she has fond memories of her early years working in the business. “Mum and Dad had the business, along with many other interests, and at the age of five I was answering the phone in the Adelaide store. From an early age I was fascinated by gem stones, not just diamonds, and really loved the many different colours that occur naturally.”
