Describe yourself in one sentence. "I Can Do It!" What got you into dancing? Was it something you always wanted to do? I grew up in a dancing family; my grandma, mom, aunts - everyone danced! I kind of fell into it in that sense, but then it became my passion.

What is it like to be on "Dance Moms?” It's like being on “Survivor”! I get obstacles thrown at me each week… new styles, new cast members, new music, then we have to race to get it done in two or three days (not a week) AND come out on top of the competition! It is fun though. I love everyone that I work with and the kids are great. I wouldn't have it any other way! You have a BA in Advertising and Public Relations. What do you plan on using your BA for? I actually use it more than you think - any web ad or Instagram post for the dance studio or dance company is made by me! We got the show the month I was graduating. For the first six episodes I juggled graduating college, shooting and dance competitions every weekend. I don't do as much designing as I would like, but that's on hold for a moment. I will get back to it, promise!

"I always find something I love in each of the kids. I couldn't possibly pick a favorite. They are all my favorites for different

Would you ever start your own dance company? If so, what would you call it?

Maybe someday, but not now. I just like creating, not dealing with the hassle of bills or parents, etc. We once called our group Gia's Dolls when Abby was away, so maybe I'd call it that! Where do you see yourself in the future? Hopefully still teaching and choreographing! I am really into fashion too, so maybe having a clothing or dance wear line of my own!

What are your five best tips for a beginner dancer?

It's never too early or too late to dance. If it is something you're passionate about, pursue it! I was never the first overall soloist until I was 15 or 16 - that's when I started winning. Your time will come! Some kids never win one competition, but end up working professionally. That’s just how their cards are dealt. Always work hard in class! The more you put in, the more you get out. If you cheat on steps that are difficult for you, in a few years they're going to be more difficult. Was that five? Pointe your toes!

Jackson Harris

"I'm a city kid born and raised, obsessed with music and being creative. "

What got you into music? At a young age I always loved music. I was singing along with the radio, making my bed into a stage as if I was playing a concert, and I was addicted to that feeling and comfort that music gave me. You have toured with Cody Simpson and Jacob Whitesides just to name a few, How did you lik touring and what was your favorite city? Touring is absolutely the best part of being a musician and creating music. I love getting the chance to travel the world and meet new fans and friends. It's too difficult to choose just one city that I love the most, but I enjoy Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, Dublin, Italy and Portugal to name a few. Have you had any crazy fan moments while touring? When I was in Dublin and leaving the venue, the car I was being driven in got mobbed by people and it got a bit dented and scratched up. But it was worth it for the experience and the story :) You started in a band and became a solo act. How did the band come about and what made you choose to venture off solo? My friends in the band wanted to go off to school and I wanted to stay and continue working on the music. I wanted to keep writing songs and keep pursuing my passion. I knew that if I wanted to this that I would have to be my own person and sing and write from my own perspective. It allowed me to be more honest and vulnerable which I think lends itself to making the best music. What inspired "Dance with the Devil"? I was going through some difficult times in my life. I had just broken up with a girlfriend, and there was some personal family stuff going on and I decided to just use the song as a way to remind myself that everything was going to be ok and that with time -- wounds would heal. The concept of the music video was amazing. How did you come up with that concept and what did you learn from making that video? I wanted to capture the full scope of a relationship. Jon Rua, star of the Broadway show HAMILTON is a good friend and I asked him to choreograph a piece that reflected the energy of the song. A big inspiration for the video itself was the first scene from the movie UP. I loved how without words, a whole story was told in a few minutes. Musicians on Call is charity you work with. Can you explain what you do with that charity? Musicians on Call is an incredible organization that brings live music into rooms of patients battling various illnesses. It is a grounding and humbling experience to be able to sing someone a song who is fighting some sort of medical issue. I just try to make them smile, and forget their worries for a few minutes with a song or two.

"A girl on a mission to disrupt the system and inspire others to do the same. "

You are kind of known for playing the sassy girl in your roles, like in “Bring It On: Fight To The Finish". What is it about that type of character that you love? I honesty don’t know why those types of characters come so naturally for me… and I really can’t explain why I love playing them so much. All I know is that I get this amazing rush from playing characters like that and I have so much fun doing it. It is probably because those characters are the complete opposite of who I really am. You have a background in many types of dance. Did you enjoy getting to use those skills in “Center Stage: Turn It Up?” I love any time I get to dance or do anything active in the roles that I play. I can’t wait to do more characters that fight and kick-ass like the character Gina Delamo I just played in Atomic Shark.I have this little obsession with martial arts and fight choreography. I also just love playing characters that fight for what they want and save the day against all odds. My life’s mission is to inspire people, and these types of characters are the most inspirational people and stories you could find. You are very passionate about inspiring people to live a healthy and happy life - what motivates you to want to help others so much? I just care so much! There is way too much heartache, struggle and sadness out there, and I want to create as much content as I possibly can to help people find the power they have within themselves to transform all these extreme challenges into amazing ways to inspire and positively impact the world. Why did you decide to start the "Unbreakable" movement? Unbreakable was greatly inspired from my “Center Stage” story and is centred around what I have learned along my journey of going after and achieving my dreams. I feel so blessed to get to live out my dreams, and I want to help others live theirs. Because of what I have gone through on my journey, I am passionate about helping other people discover and develop their inner and outer strength, celebrate their unique gifts and talents, and remain Unbreakable through life’s challenges. One of my favorite things is when I get letters and video messages from fans or people who have attended one of my workshops that say things like “because of your workshop, I finally have the confidence to go after my dream/love myself/ have the strength not to listen to anyone telling me I can’t do the things I really want to do!” Contintue on the next page.

So, we loved you on "Scream Queens”! How was it working on such an amazing show? Would you ever do a scary movie? "Scream Queens" was such an amazing show to work on! "Cold Moon”, that comes out really soon, is a suspense thriller and will definitely make you jump. I have a really hard time watching scary movies but they are really fun to make! What advice would you give to a young actor that wants to follow in your footsteps? You can do it! Every person that has done it was just like you once. The only difference between you and your favorite celebrity is that they went after their dream so hard every single day and never let anyone stop them. You are always more beautiful, talented, capable, and strong than you think. Once you believe you are something, you actually embody it. You can choose to believe whatever you want to believe… why not choose thoughts that will empower towards your goals and dreams? Never let anyone tell you no and never let anyone, not even yourself, hold you back. Be disruptive in your thoughts and in your life, create positive change, and create a life you love. I honestly could talk about this kind of stuff all day long and that is exactly why I wrote my new ebook - so I could inspire other young actors and artists to achieve their goals and dreams regardless of the challenges that come along the way.

At what age did you realize singing was what you wanted to do with your life? I started singing in a camp at the age of 5 but by the time I was 7, I was hooked on performing. Every opportunity I got to be on stage, I took. I did everything from school musicals, to variety shows, Christmas shows, etc. How did your family find out about your talent? My mother was always my biggest fan but it was my Moms friend Jackie that told her that I was really talented. Then one day when we were at Jackie's house she happened to be on the telephone with Shaun Bless. Jackie handed me the phone and said "Here, Mariel sing Adele's Rolling in the Deep to Bless.” He quickly responded with “Get this girl the NYC as soon as possible” and that is how it all began.. Bless than became my first producer. At the age of 9 you recorded your own anti-bullying song. Why is anti-bullying important to you? It’s important to remind others that they are not alone in what they are going through and use my voice to spread the importance of kindness to other kids and teenagers. Have you endured bullying? Yes — a few years ago I was in the center of a cyber attack where these girls were having fun on the weekend and I was not invited so they would attack me with messages and pictures trying to make me jealous and reminding me that I was not included. Also, last school year this one girl made it her mission to pick on me and cause unnecessary conflict. She was constantly putting me down in order to elevate herself. It was a awful experience. I would hate going to lunch and classes with her because I was scared I would be insulted or put down. I really felt victimized.

"Stay strong and believe in yourself. Believe in the saying “what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!!" Let's talk about Madison Square Garden. You got to sing there at 10 years old. How does a 10 year old get that opportunity? My manager Jackie Sarkis (or as I call her Mama-ger!) heard that they were doing auditions to be a Knicks kid to sing at the halftime show at the New York Knicks game. So off we went to New York City. There were hundreds of kids lined up to audition and I had 90 seconds to prove myself. A few weeks later we got an email to perform on December 21, 2012. When I heard the good news, I was so in

What has been that moment where you realized "wow this is real, I actually have fans and people who support me?” Definitely this summer when I toured with Camplified. After every show at the meet and greet, the fans were so complimentary and supportive. What can we expect from a Mariel EP? My music is a Hundreds of kids were lined up to get my reflection of me — it is really energetic and conveys autograph and photos. It was awesome. a positive vibe. It’s a balance of fun and serious. One of my biggest influences is definitely Taylor Swift. She What other dreams do you have that you is beautiful, graceful, talented, and a style icon all wanna purse? Truthfully I don't have any other packed into one. I love her music, story telling and dreams that are not centered around singing and performing! positive messages. You started with covers on YouTube but now you are releasing an EP. When can we expect it? You can except my EP out some time this Fall — I’m so excited to finally share with my fans the music that I’ve been working so hard on.

What is the story behind the EP? It definitely has a few different stories. I really wanted to mainly capture a poppy and fun side. There is one ballad that is very special to me — listeners will probably think it is a love song, but it's actually a song about a relationship between a parent and child.

'Even if they are not trying to be a role model, they still have to realize they have an impact because the media promotes everything they're doing, bad or good!"

Who is your dream person to collaborate with? Justin Bieber! It would be so fun and a What is the most "epic" thing that has happened in total honor to collaborate with him. I love his your life so far? This whole singing journey that I've look, style and music. been on seems to be pretty epic. I'm meeting great people people in the business and improving all the What advice would you give to a new musician who wants to do what you do? Go for it. Love time. I feel like I'm living my dream!!! what you do and dream big. If you do both of With such a big platform, how important is it to use those and work hard, you can do anything. your voice for positivity? So important. I want to evoke a positive and self-confident vibe that people Why I Think Mariel is Epic: can be inspired by. I got the amazing chance to listen to her new How do you feel about celebrities who claim to not single before the release and I instantly knew I want to be a role model for fans? Even if they are not wanted to know more about her. I think her trying to be a role model, they still have to realize style of music is something young people need they have an impact because the media promotes right now. It's like a different type of pop music. Something that we fans of music haven't heard everything they're doing, bad or good!. in a while. Her voice fits perfectly with the What has been that moment where you realized original music she writes. From interviewing "wow this is real, I actually have fans and people her, I've learned that she is a breath of fresh air who support me?” Definitely this summer when I as a new rising artist. She's not trying to be toured with Camplified. After every show at the meet anyone else but Mariel. It was awesome. coming in with this new single is going to be On the outside I am very confident and determined her lane and hers only. I think the artist she is but on the inside I am very passionate and becoming now is going to take her a long ways sentimental, which I think all works in harmony to in this industry.
