Sophomore’s Taylor TenHarmsel and Phil Shenk led the Maple Leafs with two-rounds totals of 180. Leafs Battle Through First Two Events Of Season At the St. Francis Invitational on Thursday the Leafs were led by sophomore Taylor TenHarmsel, who carded a 88 and Goshen tallied 368 for fourth place. Sophomore Phil Shenk was one stroke behind TenHarmsel, carding a 89. Head Coach – 2nd Season (574) 536-5463 joshhire@trgolfclub.com Local Professional Golf Association of America (PGA) head professional Josh Hire begins his second season as the Head Men’s Golf Coach at Goshen College in 2009. Hire has spent the past five-plus years as the head professional at Timber Ridge Golf Club in Millersburg, Indiana, which has served as the host to the Goshen College Invitational. “I look forward to fostering integrity, honesty, and hard work in young adults through the Goshen College golf program,” said Hire, who took over for four-year head coach Cory Furman last July. “I intend to use my skills as a golf instructor to encourage growth both on and off the course.” At Timber Ridge, Hire does individual instruction, hosts and organizes golf matches and tournaments, and works with local high schools to initiate and expand their golf programs. “Josh brings an expertise that will no doubt provide the excellence we are looking for in our golf program,” said Demant. Josh and his wife Jennifer have been married five years and live in Millersburg. They are expecting their first child this fall.

The official tournament and practice home of Maple Leaf golf, Timber Ridge Golf Club is located just 15 minutes from campus. Recently hired head coach Josh Hire, has been the Professional Golf Association (PGA) pro for the Millersburg course for the past three-plus years. Its narrow fairways and fast greens make for an exciting round of golf. Complete with driving range, chipping green, practice bunker, warm up putting green, and pro shop, Timber Ridge Golf Club is an ideal location for the Goshen College Golf Team.

Goshen College golf team members – as well as students, staff, faculty, and community members – don’t have to go far to get in a few holes as the Highline Golf Course sits right on campus. Three stand-alone par-3 holes stretch from the softball field to the south end of the GC Athletic Complex and around the south end of the soccer field.
