Burns won his first PGA TOUR title on the Copperhead in 2021 finishing three shots ahead of Keegan Bradley and four in front of Viktor Hovland. His repeat win in 2022 was much more dramatic, as he used a 32-foot birdie putt on the 2nd hole to defeat Davis Riley, with Justin Thomas missing the playoff by a stroke.
T he win moved Burns into the OWGR top 10 for the first time and he went on to add another playoff victory at the Charles Schwab Challenge over Scottie Scheffler. Now 26, Burns is primed to continue his rise to the top of the golf world. And looking to become the first player to win an event in three consecutive years since Steve Stricker won a trio of John Deere Classic titles in 2009-10-11.
T he 2023 Valspar Championship will offer plenty of excitement besides Burns battling top PGA TOUR golfers on the course.
T he tournament’s popular concert series, Valspar LIVE presented by Chick-fil-A, returns for a 7th time. Toby Keith and Brad Paisley are among the top country acts that have graced the stage on the Osprey Driving
Range in the past – and they are rivaled in 2023 by Country legend Darius Rucker. His full 90-minute show on Saturday, March 18 is free to all tournament patrons. A three-time GRAMMY®-winner, Rucker has released four #1 albums on the Billboard Country charts and has topped the charts with 10 hit singles including “Wagon Wheel”, one of the top five bestselling Country songs of all time.
T he Valspar Championship will be debuting a new premium, upper level, single-ticket, seating area at the 18th hole called “The Rooftop” which will feature entertainment, celebrities, special food and drink as well as spectacular up-close views of the 18th hole. Tickets for the 2023 Valspar Championship, including The Rooftop and the Hooters Owl’s Nest, are now on sale at ValsparChampionship.com.
