Golfers who find their way to Notts Hollinwell know they have arrived at a very special place from the moment they turn the final bend on the long driveway to the Club and see a magnificent view of the course and imposing clubhouse ahead of them. Set in the gently rolling hills of North Nottinghamshire in the heart of Robin Hood County, Notts Hollinwell offers one of the finest examples of traditional heathland golf in Great Britain and is only 10 minutes from junction 27 of the M1.

Currently ranked as the UK & Ireland’s 40th best course by Golf World Top 100 and by National Club Golfer as an England Top 20 course, the club continues with the widely acclaimed course and environmental improvements accomplished over recent years and may well rise further up the rankings. Notts Hollinwell has held many prestigious professional and amateur tournaments and on July 3rd 2018 the club will host Final Qualifying for the 147th Open at Carnoustie. Past tournaments include the Dunlop Masters, John Player Classic and more recently the prestigious British Boys Championship in 2012 won by Matt Fitzpatrick. Notts Hollinwell also hosted the Brabazon Trophy for the 5th time in June 2015, which was won by Ireland’s Cormac Sharvin.

Fine Golf rates Notts Hollinwell as giving a four star “joy to be alive” feeling. In 2014 the 13th, a 241 yard par three, was included in Golf Worlds 100 Classic Golf Holes across the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. The club also has fascinating connections not only to ancient monks, Robin Hood, Sherwood Forest, the Ryder Cup and The Open but also to Charles Darwin, Sir Nick Faldo, Peter Alliss, Matt Fitzpatrick and unique world records. The members at Notts Hollinwell are very proud of their club, one of the great tests of golf, and extend a warm welcome to visitors from near and far. Come and view Robin Hood’s seat behind the second green, take a drink from the well by the eighth tee that gives the course its name and soak up the atmosphere that only comes with a course of great stature and a wonderful history.
