FOR PERFECT GOLF VACATIONS HEAD TO HAMBURG Anyone who has ever been on a golfing holiday will know there are things that can go right and things that can go wrong, so each of these trips needs to be organised with great care. If certain players don’t get along with each other it can create a difficult atmosphere, of course, and if the wrong destination is selected it can ruin the whole trip almost from the moment when everyone arrives.

There are several countries which offer excellent golfing vacations around the world, but the sad truth is that few of them manage to tick all the right boxes. For example, the courses in Scotland are simply superb, but there’s no guarantee that the weather, even in the height of summer, will make it easy for golfers to enjoy themselves. Portugal is home to good courses and an exceptional climate, but many people find it too expensive. The problem is that a great golfing holiday needs so much more than a good course and a hotel. There has to be something of an infrastructure in place to keep visitors happy from first thing in the morning to last thing at night. A group of golfers, once they’ve putted out on the eighteenth green, don’t simply

head back to the hotel and go to bed – they want somewhere to go in the evenings. Infrastructure is everything Hamburg has been welcoming tourists to the country for many decades now, and the majority of golfing complexes are located close to bustling towns that offer the tired golfer a chance to relax with a few beers before heading off to any one of a number of restaurants that are to be found in the area. In Hamburg, the quality of the nightlife generally matches that of the daytime too. The golf courses in Hamburg cover the whole spectrum, from inexpensive municipal tracks to highly regarded championship venues that give players the chance to walk in the footsteps of the famous. Many of those that are located close to the coastline will be heavily contoured, so a buggy is advised if you want to avoid the fatigue that kicks in later in the round. Even during the colder months the courses in Hamburg remain playable thanks to the excellent drainage. At many venues, the tee boxes are raised to give players an excellent view of the fairways – and to encourage them to open their shoulders and give the driver a full swing. Be warned, though, hazards are strategically placed, so accuracy is often more important than distance. And if you’re not used to fast greens you may be shocked at the speed of the putting surfaces at most Spanish courses. If you’ve never played in this wonderful country before, make sure you visit the practice green for a few minutes before you set out onto the course. The lightning greens often shock even the best players. For more information eSport Hamburg and After Work Hamburg
