How Do You Ignore Your Rowdy Golf Companions And Maintain Focus? This question was posed to me the other day. Actually, that’s not quite the truth. A statement was made to me to the effect that it was annoying playing with guys who rib you and joke around when you in fact would prefer to concentrate on your game. The inference made was that you simply cannot play your best under these circumstances. I agree that it makes it a whole lot more difficult to focus. But it is only impossible if you see it that way. Where there is a will there is a way. You just have to work out how to block those irritations out. If Tiger and Rory can block out the thousands of followers and the TV cameras, whilst at the same time dealing with the pressure of being in the lead on the final day, then surely we amateur golfers should be able to turn a blind eye to a few laughs and jokes? You might say that this is more difficult because you know these guys, and they know how to get to you. Perhaps this is true. But your reality in fact only comes from how you perceive a situation. What you perceive, you believe and you achieve. Wouldn’t it be healthier and more positive for you if you were to choose to perceive that these few comments from the guys you know are “chicken feed” compared to some other types of pressure? And if it is possible for Tiger, Rory, and the other professional golfers out there to learn to block out these major distractions, should you not be able to learn to block out minor ones? So let's now assume that you do perceive that you should be able to block out distractions, what steps can you take to make sure that you do indeed achieve in this task?

1. Understand that you only have to concentrate fully on the task of golf for about 30 - 40 seconds at a time, during your pre-shot routine and as you hit the ball. You do not have to fully focus for 4 hours. Just small bites of 30 40 seconds when it really matters. For the rest of the time, you can relax, laugh and rib the other guys. 2. Adhere to your pre-shot routine. This in itself works as a set of blinkers and earmuffs to what is going on around you. 3. Absorb yourself in the process of focusing in the now on your routine and shot. 4. Between shots walk with your head held high, shoulders back. This in itself is positive. Laugh a lot, as this keeps your mood relaxed. Turn things

around in your perceptions so that you can actually use the guys’ high spirits to your advantage instead of your disadvantage. Work on this perspective and it will definitely reap rewards! Check out their websites for more information Hamburg Golf and Hochzeit Hamburg
