“ Three E’s on ‘E’ ”

Catering to the vision reorient the conventional notion of a mall being glassy, airconditioned and disconnected from the outdoor environment, the green shopping mall complex establishes itself with a sustainable green announcement via passive design strategies, wrt the critical times in a hot & humid climatic zone. The building footprint & planned oriented massing ensures, maximum viable mutual shading. The courtyard cocoons the breeziness, woodiness, liveliness, human activities, kids’ enjoyment, proliferation of living beings across all species and genera. Harboring landscaping, trees & maximizing natural daylight utilization by balcony views of the massive courtyard. To ensure the spaces are pleasant from morning to night, sufficient punctures in wall for welcoming adequate natural daylight & ventilation. Bazaar feeling is thought to be delivered via the design interventions. Class A shops ~125m2, class B shops ~500m2 and anchor shops ~1200m2. Inquisitive design features of connecting sky bridges, connecting the different building blocks, plus harbors food kiosks, views to the liveliness on the site. Material palette of naked concrete structural frame (column-beam

& slab) with perforated Cross-laminated timber (CLT) wall panels with Window to Wall ratio (WWR~30%) corresponding to the calculated energy simulations. Open parking with facilitated solar roof, planted pergolas to renovate the lost ground and mechanical parking arrangements.

IIT (BHU) Hospital, defines its importance & need in the IIT (BHU) students & staff fraternity, for direct & privileged access to dedicated healthcare services, specifally for the IIT (BHU) family. Direct availment of institutional healthcare services to the persons affiliated to IIT (BHU). The institute lacks its own, self-dedicated healthcare domain, which is currently derived from Student’s health centre BHU, IMS-BHU & Trauma centre BHU. This makes the fraternity to wait in long queues, & hustle-bustle in the mainstream chaotic health care stressed zone of Varanasi & Purvanchal on a larger context.

100-bedded hospital with 4 basic services of OPD (Out-Patent department), Diagnosis, an Emergency section & ICUs, General, maternity & pediatric wards with 2 Major Operation Theatres (OTs). Facilitated with each assorted sustainable practice employed on site operation to operation of the hospital. On an actual realization of the need, the hospital will create nuanced occupational & job opportunities for professional practice & training destination for resident future doctors in one of the nation’s premier heritage national importance institutes.
