Gonzaga Law in Florence – Summer Program
Put Passion into Practice
The practice of law increasingly involves global dimensions. Gonzaga is committed to educating law students for global competency in the 21st century, offering a robust curriculum of international and comparative law courses, faculty with rich teaching expertise, scholarly records, and professional experience, and global engagement opportunities for students and faculty.
Gonzaga Law in Florence is a centerpiece to Gonzaga Law’s global programs, transporting students from Gonzaga and other law schools to the heart of the European Union and the Renaissance for a unique academic, professional, and personal experience. “Unisciti a noi!”
Explore a Global Classroom
Gonzaga Law in Florence offers a unique opportunity to study international law and engage in global skillbuilding and professional development while inviting students to expand their horizons through travel and cultural engagement.
Visit vaunted Florentine art museums, such as the Galleria degli Uffizi, and tour the Galleria dell’Accademia and see Michelangelo’s David. Explore beyond Florence and travel to the medieval Tuscan city of Siena and to the coasts and trails of Cinque Terre in the Liguria region. Or, like many of our students, explore even further and visit other countries, such as Spain, France, Greece, England, Ireland, Morocco, Croatia, Holland, or Israel.
Discover New Skills
International Mediation Competition
Gonzaga Law and the University of Florence School of Law instituted its international mediation program in 2017, with a shared commitment to promote globally competent dispute resolution skills in students. In just three short years, this program has grown into a unique and exciting opportunity for law students to develop and refine global mediation skills for the 21st century along with students and faculty from Italy, France, Lebanon and other international locations. Engage with Human Rights Scholars
Gonzaga’s commitments to interdisciplinary scholarship and social justice join forces in the annual Gonzaga Law Human Rights Conference. With support from the Center for Civil and Human Rights at Gonzaga Law and Gonzaga in Florence, this annual conference draws academics, judges, and lawyers from around the world to explore critical human rights issues. Students, alumni, and other guests participate in the full program, including the conference social events and closing dinner.
