In my mind I’m peaceful and warm However, The world sees me As cold and dangerous Just because of the melanin in my skin They don’t know me But somehow They see through me I wish the world’s mind Wasn’t so constricted I want people to know Me The real me But when they assume Who I am They think of the absolute worst Not giving me a chance Casting me off Like a toddler does a broken toy
