Why is sustainable development so important?
The effects of lack of the sustainable development can be dangerous for our world.
If all natural resources are gone, we won’t have anything to make energy.
If we don’t help the third world countries, the environment will be destroyed (rich companies produce goods in non-ecological way there)
How to use natural resources wisely?
Be sure that the production of this resources is greater than the consumption.
Don’t create more problems by solving only one; burning coal produces energy, but it also adds carbon dioxide to the greenhouse gases.
ď ľ
We should use more types of energy sources which are free, renewable and sustainable, for example: solar, wind, tidal and thermal energy. Instead of using limited recources, like: coal, oil and natural gases.
The renewable types of energy sources could power a lot of industries and cities, only if more money would be involved.
People shouldn’t be using new things (for example: electronics) faster than they are produced, because then a lot of these products are being wasted.

Lighting at school and how much waste it generates
Using 35W bulbs (now)
Using 5W bulbs
Conclusion ď ľ
Now to reduce CO2 generated only by light in our school we need 40000 trees it is 10 km2 of forest ( size of Warsaw is 519 km2)
If we changed our bulbs to eco ones the number would be reduced to 5500 trees it is 1,5 km2 of forest.
A few interesting facts about forests in Poland: • In 2010 trees were planted on an area equal to 7,5 thousands football pitches • By the year 2020 30% of Poland will be covered by forests according to a goal set in 1995
Saving energy - competition ď ľ
Students from our school took part in an all-Poland competition for the best poster or movie to promote saving energy.
Distinction ď ľ
Our friend Kuba Kalemba from grade II, achieved a distinction it this competition.
