As a result of conflicts around the world, the number of refugees has been displaced from their homelands to temporary shelters in other countries. However, as seen in certain sites, many refugees have spent their lives in those temporary accommodations more than 30 years and new generations have been born on the camp sites. Lives in the shelters are full of limitations. Many refugees, without any choice, are placed in unfamiliar environments. While the issues of safety and hygiene are of paramount important in refugee camps, any actions leading to a long-term settlement are usually prohibited. The refugees have spent their lives without any goal of life; their dignity and identities have gradually been gone. Regarding “Mae-Surin camp site”, a refugee camp located in the north of Thailand, as a case study, this project aims to propose a revision of the master plan of the refugee camp. The revised plan is intended to promote a better quality of life of the refugees.
