About The Author W hen you think of the word legend, what comes to your mind? Many times, a person may think of a legend as a story being told or maybe about a great person who did something spectacular or memorable. Recently, I have seen the word legend frequently posted and shared. This word was to talk about/remember a famous athlete who died suddenly and tragically toward the beginning of this year. This man was a legend in his sport, and he received all kinds of accolades. It is obvious that many people liked him and he made an impact in this world through his career in basketball. While I could talk more about this athlete, I don’t want to simply focus on him. Rather, I want to introduce you to someone who is greater than just a legend.

I want to introduce you to Jesus Christ, who is greater than any athlete, person, or legend who ever lived or will live on this earth. This man named Jesus loves you and me far greater than any person ever could; in fact, He died so you and I could have life eternally. When He was here on the earth, He healed the sick, raised the dead to life, and performed all kinds of miracles. He left and continues to leave a great impact, so much greater than any legend could. He was so great that we should follow in His steps and live as Christ lived.
Whether you realize it or not, as a teenager, you have a great opportunity to make an impact in this world just as you are. If you have Christ living on the inside of you, then you can make a difference. If you are a Christian, then you have a significant purpose to fulfill, and there is no need to wait until you are older to fulfill it. Your time to fulfill your purpose is now! In 1 Timothy 4:12, the apostle Paul writes to Timothy, a young minister, about how he should act and respond in his role as a leader in the church. Paul writes, “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” Just as Paul was writing to Timothy, I believe that this same verse can be applied to your life today.
Don’t think that just because you are a teenager, you have to wait to make an impact in the world. Rather, just as you are, you have the ability and opportunity to reach people for Christ and make a lasting impact right where you are. You can be a living example for Jesus Christ through the ways that you talk, the ways that you act, and how you respond to situations in your life. Therefore, don’t ever think that you are too young to make an impact for Christ in this world because people are always watching. So live for Christ today, follow His examples, and lead with an integrity that can and will change lives and ultimately this world for Jesus Christ.
