Beauty Like a Butterfly

Beauty is most often thought of as a feature that makes an object pleasurable to look upon. Some find beauty in the shiny things that grab our attention right away, as others may find beauty in something as simple as a country sunset. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it. A beautiful heart will bring things into your life that all the money in the world couldn’t get you. Beauty goes deeper than an outward appearance. On those hard days when you feel like the ugly duckling, remember that butterflies can’t see their wings. They can’t see how truly beautiful they are, but everyone else can. Butterflies remind us that no matter how hard the journey may be, there is always beauty at the end of all the pain we go through.
Too often, the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched but felt with the heart. This is why we always close our eyes when we kiss, dream, and pray. To love beauty is to see the light in others. Love can be thought of like a butterfly too, it is a rare and gentle thing that we are given in this life, yet we often take it for granted. We delight in the beauty of the butterfly but rarely admit the changes it has to go through to achieve the beauty that it becomes.
When times get hard, and you feel like the journey you’re on is not going the way you want, don’t settle—you can change it. Although change can be hard, it is worth it in the end. Show the world that anything is possible if you put your heart and mind to it and put God first in your life. Like a butterfly, your wings will unfold, and your beauty will shine through. Sometimes, I think that butterflies are God’s way of throwing confetti upon the earth like a celebration, reminding us of the love He shows for us. A butterfly can only transform once in its lifetime, but once you give your life to God, you can do it anytime and in countless ways. So, live life with a heart for God. Life is not always going to be perfect, but that is the beauty of life. Always remember what God tells us in the Bible in Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He hath made everything beautiful in His time.”
