Prayer Time

by Norma Hill

About a decade ago, I had an idea on fulfilling the Great Commission, “Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel…” (Matthew 28:19). I had about 1,000 people on my e-mail contact list. I was sending out e-mails with ministry material and videos on biblical information seeking to touch the heart of people. My main goal was to tell them to

share the salvation message that I was sending with everyone in their contacts. I also had ministry/business cards made.

As the year went by, my ideas were fulfilling my purpose. Jeremiah 29:11 states, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” I heard God saying, “Prayer Time.” And at the beginning of 2012, I heard God further speak to me about ministry on a local television station, WTNB. He gave me the theme “Prayer Time.” I called the television station, and in May of 2012, I went on the air and was broadcasted every Sunday afternoon for six years.

In 2019, I welcomed the opportunity to be on the radio to host a live devotional every Wednesday on a local radio station 99.9 FM—local and in East Tennessee, and worldwide on Woopfm.com. I heard God again in 2019, with a ministry for a one-hour time slot on the local radio station. My focus was on winning souls and reciting the plan of salvation of the sinner’s prayer to the audience. Every month, I saw the light shining brighter during the Covid-19 pandemic. I tested positive for Covid-19 in March of 2020, which put me in isolation for three weeks. During that time, I had an insight and revelation for my ministry. Habakkuk 2:2-3 came to mind, “And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

During 2020, God gave me illuminations which led my ministry into a revelation when I experienced Covid-19. I had to be isolated, and during this time, I had encountered an insight on where God wanted to take the ministry. Each Saturday, I share the Word of God from 2-3 p.m. EST on Woopfm.com and lead individuals to Christ by divine appointment.
