Designs may change. Our Culture and Values will not. Each market hundreds of furniture companies introduce thousands of new products. They are mostly nuanced changes. Some designs are thousands of years old. We still make a Klismos chair which first appeared somewhere between the 8th and 6th Century BC. When we look through ads in old magazines we laugh at the changes in hairstyles, gawk at changes in automobiles, and marvel at the evolution in computers. But the furniture looks remarkably similar. Innovative materials, different scale and the incorporation of technology make them unique, but the silhouettes of beds or tables are unlikely to change much if at all over the next generation. Whether designs change or not, our culture won’t change, nor will the values that guide us.
People refer to Vanguard as a family company — not because it is family-owned — but because our most basic core value is to treat one another with dignity and respect. We do our best to be good corporate citizens, protect our environment and create a great place to work. We plough back most of our profits into our employees and resources that make them more productive. By helping associates to help our customers, everyone wins. All of us can take great comfort in knowing that furniture is a great business. No matter what the future brings, there is a high degree of likelihood that humanity will be sleeping in beds, sharing meals around dining tables, and sitting in comfortable upholstery. Families will be feathering nests to create a cozy haven reflecting their personal lifestyle and personality. It is an inexorable human drive extending from the Flintstones to the Jetsons.

Pacific Coast Down cushions are constructed with 100% cotton ticking, 230 thread count, and filled with hypo-allergenic feathers and down. Feather and down "interiors" are the gold standard of comfort and quality. Feather and down blends act much differently than polyester or urethane foam due to their adjustability. This property allows cushions to conform to the body and provide optimal comfort.
