SUMMER: THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL

SUMMER: The Donna Summer Musical features a book by Colman Domingo, Robert Cary, and Des McAnuff and music and lyrics by Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, Pete Bellotte, Paul Jabara, and others. It was originally directed by Des McAnuff and features more than 20 of Summer’s well-known hits (including “Love to Love You Baby,” “Hot Stuff,” “Bad Girls,” and “MacArthur Park”).

Told through the dramatic lens of her final concert, SUMMER: The Donna Summer Musical presents the complexities and conflicts the famed singer/songwriter faced in her meteoric rise and descent. It tells the story of the woman whose songs broke every record, whose story broke every barrier, and who became the icon of an era and the inspiration for every music diva who followed. It will run June 16-July 16 at The Gateway Playhouse in Bellport.

BELINDA CARLISLE AT NYCB THEATRE

Belinda Carlisle released her brand new five track Kismet EP, featuring the single “Big Big Love,” which marks the pop icon’s first new English language studio recording since 1997 and the triumphant reunion with the incomparable songwriter Diane Warren.

Produced by Mati Gavriel, Kismet, is released on Warren’s label imprint RAF through BMG and in addition to “Big Big Love” features the brand new tracks, “If U Go” (the EP’s focus track), “Deeper Into You,” “I Couldn’t Do That To Me,” and “Sanity”.

Kismet is available now on CD and across all streaming platforms/digital services. She’ll be appearing live on July 18th at NYCB Theatre Westbury.

TOM SEGURA AT STALLER CENTER

Actor/Comedian/Writer Tom Segura is one of the biggest names in the comedy business. He has most recently been performing to sold-out audiences on his 200+ city I’M COMING EVERYWHERE WORLD TOUR.

Tom Segura will be appearing at Staller Center, Stony Brook on Saturday November 11th. He is best known for his Netflix specials Ball Hog (2020), Disgraceful (2018,) Mostly Stories (2016), and Completely Normal (2014).

In July 2022, Segura released his New York Times Bestselling book I’D LIKE TO PLAY ALONE, PLEASE, to wide praise, with Forbes calling it “laugh-out-loud funny.” Paste Magazine described him as “...having a natural and capable storytelling ability, one that lifts his narratives out of average anecdote fare and plants them firmly in hilarious ground.” This show is for Mature Audiences.

MIKE CAMPBELL & THE DIRTY KNOBS

Mike Campbell was a member, architect and co-captain of the Heartbreakers, a band he co-founded with Tom Petty, whom he met in a Gainesville, Florida carport in 1972.

The Heartbreakers lead guitarist, Campbell cowrote many of the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers hits and also co-produced many of their albums –in addition to penning songs for Don Henley (“Boys of Summer”), Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks and playing on records by Aretha Franklin, Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash.

In 2018, Campbell joined Fleetwood Mac’s World Tour on lead guitar and in 2020, Campbell released Wreckless Abandon, the first album by The Dirty Knobs, a group that was Campbell’s longtime side project but is now his primary musical focus.

Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs released their second LP External Combustion in 2022 and toured the USA, including runs opening for both Chris Stapleton and The Who. They’ll be appearing Wednesday, Sept. 27th at 8 p.m. at Patchogue Theatre. 71 East Main St Patchogue. Tickets are $49-$79 incl. fees.
