This is program will provide you with foundational management skills. It will help you to: • Improve relationships with your employees and customers • Enhance communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills • Provide exceptional customer service
• Achieve team and business results
Operations Management
Lead Effective Operations After completing your Supervisory certificate, the next level is the Operations program. It will help you to: • Be more strategic and create a business case for change efforts • Improve operational processes and efficiencies • Lead change processes and teams
• Be a more influential communicator
These programs include self guided online courses developed by Harvard University, a top notch library of materials, and a number of tools that can be applied to leadership challenges now and throughout your career. One of the advantages of these programs is that it will provide all leaders across global mining tire operations with best practice knowledge about management, while at the same time allowing each participant to customize their learning depending on their individual needs and local priorities. This combination will help us to better operate as a team while ensuring we can meet our daily challenges with skill and confidence. As you go through these programs it is important to remember that knowledge is one thing, but practice is what truly leads to expertise. We encourage you to use the resources in this program again and again, and to remember that practice makes perfect.

Program Elements To graduate from each of the certification programs you must complete the following components.
1. Learning Plan Before beginning each program you and your manager will identify which electives are most relevant to your job, and site priorities, and put this information into your learning plan. A learning plan is to be submitted within the first week..
2. Core Courses For each program, there are twelve online courses that must be completed to graduate. Each course will take anywhere from two to six hours to complete, depending on the pace at which you learn, your prior knowledge of the topic, and whether or not you chose to apply one of the learning tools from the course. Upon completion of each course there is a short knowledge exam.
3. Electives A minimum of three electives must be completed to graduate; however, you have the option (and are encouraged) to complete all of the electives, time permitting.
4. Application of Learning Each of the courses includes relevant Harvard Business Review articles, as well as related tools that can help you to achieve common management activities like structuring a coaching session, or having a difficult conversation. To graduate you are required to implement at least five of these tools in your day to day work, and report back on progress using your learning log. Learning logs must be submitted on the first Friday of each month.
5. Certification Presentation At the end of each program you will be required to do a 5 minute presentation to your local management team on how you grew as a leader as a result of participating in the program.
