I'm a 2020 Bachelor of Design graduate, specializing in architecture at the University of Florida. I'm interested in sustainable architecture, green design and theoretical design. As an open minded individual, I would like to use this set of selected works as a catalyst for design creativity and methods that can provide to the success of a project. I love learning and I am a diligent worker seeking an entry-level position that will begin my endeavors.

An exploration of conceptual designs for inhabitable spaces in a desert landscape. Underground excavated spaces in a sea of sand. Through mapping and designing structures created for a mining community in the Atacama desert, Chile, an understanding of building in an extreme environment was developed.

the water organ tower is inspired from the traditional use of wells in Venetian campos. In a quiet campo along the main canal of Venice I choose to construct a water organ that works with pipes that fill with the rising and falling of the tides, creating a space for the public to enjoy. The sound the water pressure makes through the pipes can be heard throughout the area, along with a viewing tower that wraps around the site of an abandoned well. A water cistern fills the center of the structure, celebrating the idea of a well.

ordway-swisher research facilities| design 05 Jeffrey Carney | Florida Landscape Studio | Putnam County, FL

This project is about understanding the natural Florida landscape and working with it to create spaces that promote conservation and resilince. These spaces are used for research and are connected to the land with minimal disruption to it. There are three structures connected by a main axis of movement. Space one is designed for main offices, it is an administrative space. Space two is a greenhouse that has a transient nature with wooden columns the width of the surrounding longleaf pines. It has a very minimal footprint on the environment and can be moved leaving the land as it once was. The greenhouse contains plants native to the area for research purposes. Space three is an observation tower to survey the surounding land and to get data on the local wildlife as well as air quality readings.

the focus of this project is on the design of a space for performers and dancers. It's modern facade lets light into a large entrance space which is enclosed in glass, contrasting with the large open space in the back of the building. This covered open air space provides a porous space in which spectators and artists can coexist, connecting them to the urban context of the pedestrain traffic flow of the area.

The Breathing Tower is a mixed use high rise in East Village, NYC. It is comprised of four communal green spaces connected by an open atrium that occupies the central interior of the tower. As you move up the tower the higher levels are residential and the communal green spaces come from the atrium opening outwards onto communal floor balconies. The highest green space is a rooftop garden.

Micheal Montoya | Nolita | New York City In collaboration with Kendall Berry

Block is a project that integrates four city blocks in Nothern Little Italy(Nolita) NYC. The main focus is Elizabeth Square Garden which must be protected and perserved from being turned into a site for new highrise apartments. The proposed solution to this attempt at destroying the community garden is to create mixed- use spaces on the surrounding city blocks. These spaces main axis all a-line with Elizabeth Square Garden.

The constructed spaces appeal to different demographics and the project as a whole encompasses the main demographics in the area. Each building does incorporate a green space along the green axis of either an indoor or outdoor courtyard. All three buildings along with the garden are connected with a green axis that is pedestrian and bike/skate friendly. The idea is that the greeness of the garden leaks into the surrounding blocks.

URBAN TREEHOUSE VILLA |

Lisa Huang and Peter Sprowls | Verona, Italy | Vicenza Study Abroad Studio 2020

Located in the heart of Verona, Italy. It is in a high pedestrian traffic area because of its appeal being a daytime and nightime cafe and bar. It connects to main plazas in the city by being constructed strategically "floating" over an old mixed use building that borders both plazas. The entrance from Piazza Delle Erbe is for the public and has a grand staircase that takes you up into the main room. The other entrance is more private ( an elevator) and is mainly for private guests to the pent-house as well as access for handicap. This private entrance is from the slighlty smaller Piazza Dei Signori.

The idea behind bar-villa was intruduce new to the old arc of Verona. Tak original idea o and bring it to by creating a sancturay with appeal (bar/ca well as a priva residence in th penthouse.

The main room has room for tables and bar seating which surrounds a light tunnel that is a green space for plants to grow. A green roof was constructed on the exsisting building where this green light tunnel is, making it possible for plants to thrive. The facade is constructed with steel cables so that vines can grow vertically on the glazed walls making a natural privacy screen that still lets in natural light.

TRIDEZA | enivronmental technology 02 Hassan Azad | Luminaire Design

The intention of this design was to create a geometirc shape that could diffuse a light creating an ambiance lamp for a bedroom, living room, or studio. The size (7"x7"x7" triangle panels) is small enough to where the use of the lamp can be versitile i.e. hanging or sitting on a desk. Designing it with a light-weight material also makes this possible and easy to hang up or transport.

36 | gorchov negron

The materials used in this luminaire are coragated plastic, white fabric, pins, red opaque red stickyback, arcylic, hanging light lamp cord, and an indoor floodlight bulb. The floodlight-bulb has a lumen rating of 330 lumens. The lamp was designed to be hanging or it can sit on the floor. One side of the 20 is frosted arcylic to create a diffenet opacity of light, it is covered in white fabric to diffuse the intensity of the floodlight. I chose to use corogated plastic because it can be scored easily to form shapes and I liked the lighting condition hat was created by the semi-transparent material.
