THE BEST FAMILY ROADTRIPS Gordon Sinclair

Going on road trips as a family is a splendid way to bond and create memories that last a lifetime. Also, road trips make fantastic vacation getaways; however, they require lots of planning for them to be great. Below are five incredible road trip ideas.

SAN DIEGO TO LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA The two cities are 120 miles apart, and a drive takes approximately two hours. Both cities have many amazing attractions; the route passes through Disneyland Park in Anaheim, which is just an hour’s drive from L.A., the cities of Escondido and Santa Monica, and spectacular beaches such as Carlsbad State Beach, Huntington, and Laguna.

PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY, CALIFORNIA Many travelers opt to start their journey in L.A. and head north. A drive through the Pacific Coast Highway from the north to the south is spectacular because one gets to drive in the lane closest to the ocean.

It is considered one of the most scenic drives in the world. Along the way, there are many stopover joints such as Santa Barbra, Pebble Beach, Malibu, Monterey, Santa Monica, and Big Sur.

ROUTE 66 Route 66 is one of the most popular roads in the world. It begins in Chicago, Illinois, and ends on the Pacific Coast in Santa Monica, California. Route 66 came into existence in 1926, and since then, it has become a well-traveled highway attracting travelers from all over the world.

Route 66 stretches across eight states and has many iconic things to see including, parks, landscapes, landmarks, and waterways.

TUCSON TO GRAND CANYON, ARIZONA A trip to Arizona is a perfect way to see some of the unique landscapes in the United States. Arizona has plenty of places to visit, and a day would not be enough to explore some of these scenic destinations.

They include the Grand Canyon National Park, Saguaro National Park, Petrified Forest National Park, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, and Sedona.

BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY Blue Ridge Parkway offers a scenic view of the artfully laid out Appalachian Mountains. It runs from Northern Virginia to Southwestern North Carolina. Along the drive, there are awesome stopovers, including popular cities and towns, to enjoy the gorgeous views. Also, the area has many camping and hiking sites.
