Editors Letter: Well boogity boogity boogity. The silly season is over, the engines are reving up, the drivers & pit crew are anxious and it is time to go racin’. My older brother was a NASCAR junkie. Never missed a race. It was his love of the sport that first got me interested in watching. I really don’t think I understood the passion till he and I were able to go to a race in Atlanta. We got the entire NASCAR experience. We camped for two days before the race. We were fortunate enough to have hospitality, garage and pit passes. Our seats were right at the start/finish line. It could not have been a better trip. The next year, we brought our other brother to pull him into the mix. I have watched many a race since, but those two are truly special. If you like Racing, you should really enjoy this e-magazine. 2013 TEAMS Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Owners: Teresa Earnhardt, Chip Ganassi, Felix Sabates Location: Concord, N.C. Drivers: Jamie McMurray, Juan Pablo Montoya Cup Championships: 0 The Earnhardt Ganassi Racing team boasts the name of one of the most popular drivers in NASCAR history, Dale Earnhardt, as his widow, Teresa, is part owner of the team. The Earnhardt Ganassi team was formed when Dale Earnhardt, Inc., merged with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2009. In years past, Martin Truex Jr. and Aric Almirola have raced for the company, but in 2013, EGR will go into the field with Jamie McMurray driving the McDonaldâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s No. 1 Chevrolet and Juan Pablo Montoya driving the No. 42 Target Chevrolet. Last season, McMurray finished 21st in the final points standings as he is seeking his first win since claiming a victory in 2010. Montoya finished 22nd in the points race and last won in 2010. Earnhardt Ganassi Racing announced the company would like to run a third car part time in the Sprint Cup Series, but sponsorship could not be found to properly fund the enterprise. In years past, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Mark Martin and Aric Almirola had driven the No. 8.

Front Row Motorsports Owner: Bob Jenkins Location: Statesville, N.C. Drivers: Josh Wise, David Ragan, David Gilliland Cup Championships: 0 Front Row Motorsports has been in fulltime existence since 2005 after Bob Jenkins took over total control from former partner Jimmy Means. The team initially began in 2004 as a part-time operation, but Jenkins has helped them grow to the current three-car team. David Ragan joined the team in 2012 after coming over from Roush Fenway Racing, and he will compete in the No. 34 CSX Transportation/Peanut Patch/Maximum Human Performance Ford Fusion. Last year, Ragan posted one top-five finish with a pair of top-10 finishes. While he fell short of the Chase he has tasted victory as recently as 2011, so look for him to make a push in 2013. Teammate David Gilliland will race in the No. 38 ModSpace Ford. Josh Wise, who fell just short of winning the 2012 Rookie of the Year award, will race full-time in the No. 26 Morristown Driverâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Service Ford. The team at one point also held onto the No. 37, but has since let that go to Max Q Motorsports.

2013 TEAMS Hendrick Motorsports Owners: Rick Hendrick, Jeff Gordon, Mary Hendrick Location: Concord, N.C. Drivers: Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kasey Kahne Cup Championships: 10 Without question, Hendrick Motorsports can claim to be one of the most successful teams of all time. Rick Hendrick created the team in 1984 and has watched as his drivers have collected 14 overall championships, including 10 Sprint Cup Series titles. In years past, drivers such as Mark Martin, Brian Vickers, Kyle Busch, Terry Labonte, Ken Schrader, Darrell Waltrip, Geoff Bodine, Benny Parson and Ricky Rudd have driven for the team, but the current crop is hard to touch. Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson have combined for nine titles since 1995 while Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kasey Kahne are thought of as the future of the sport. The No. 48 Lowe’s and No. 24 Dupont are two of the most recognized cars on the circuit and Earnhardt’s No. 88 Diet Mountain Dew is a fan favorite at every track. Last season Kahne finished a career-best fourth in the Chase standings, so expect to see plenty of action from all four drivers as the title plays hot potato among this team.

Joe Gibbs Racing Owners: Joe Gibbs, J.D. Gibbs Location: Huntersville, N.C. Drivers: Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth Cup Championships: 3 After finding incredible success on the football field, Joe Gibbs and son J.D. broke onto the NASCAR scene in 1991 and have gone on to boast three Sprint Cup titles since 2000. The team began racing with GM cars before making the switch to Toyota in 2008, and JGR has quickly become NASCAR’s most successful Toyota team. Bobby Labonte (2000) and Tony Stewart (2002, 2005) captured the team’s three championships, but each has moved on to other opportunities. Denny Hamlin currently drives the No. 11 FedEx Toyota while Kyle Busch drives to No. 18 M&M Toyota and Matt Kenseth commands the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota. The Joe Gibbs Racing team has also captured plenty of hardware on the Nationwide Series as the team owns four cars on that circuit. With Hamlin and Kenseth finishing No. 6 and 7 last year and Kyle Busch always a threat in any car, Joe Gibbs Racing could quickly find itself once again hoisting a title in 2013, which would be nothing new for owner Joe Gibbs.

2013 TEAMS Michael Waltrip Racing Owners: Michael Waltrip, Robert Kauffman Location: Cornelius, N.C. Drivers: Clint Bowyer, Mark Martin, Martin Truex Jr., Michael Waltrip, Brian Vickers Cup Championships: 0 Founded in 1996, Michael Waltrip Racing has seen some of the sport’s top talent settle into the driver’s seat to compete. The team currently boasts three full-time teams with a fourth car being put into play on occasion. Clint Bowyer is one of the hottest names in NASCAR after finishing second last year in the final Sprint Cup standings. He posted three wins one year ago and finished in the top 10, 23 times to end the year just 39 points out of first place. Co-owner Michael Waltrip shares a ride with Mark Martin and Brian Vickers, also familiar names within NASCAR. Martin has finished second in the points standings five times throughout his career while Vickers is known more for his success on the Nationwide Series. Look for the No. 15 5-Hour Energy Toyota, No. 55 Aaron’s Toyota and No. 56 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota to perhaps track down the elusive championship that is seemingly within the team’s grasp in 2013.

Penske Racing Owners: Roger Penske Location: Mooresville, N.C. Drivers: Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano Cup Championships: 1 The Penske Racing team has been racing in all forms for many years, but finally got into NASCAR in 1972. Last year was perhaps the company’s best year as Brad Keselowski captured the Sprint Cup title in an exciting Chase that came down to the final race. A.J. Allmendinger was actually suspended last season as Sam Hornish, Jr. took over to finish out the season, but this year, Joey Logano will move to Penske from Joe Gibbs Racing to try and live up to the nickname “Sliced Bread.” The onetwo punch of Keslowski and Logano, who finished in 17th place last year, will be hard to beat as both team members have talent to finish in the top half of the Chase. With Penske switching from Dodge to Ford, it will be interesting to see if Keselowski in the No. 2 Miller Lite can pull off the repeat.

2013 TEAMS Richard Childress Racing Owners: Richard Childress Location: Welcome, N.C. Drivers: Paul Menard, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton Cup Championships: 6

Richard Petty Motorsports Owners: Richard Petty, Andrew Murstein, Douglas Bergeron Location: Concord, N.C. Drivers: Aric Almirola, Marcos Ambrose Cup Championships: 0

Richard Childress Racing was founded in 1969 by former driver Richard Childress and currently runs three cars on the Sprint Cup Series. While the history is rich for RCR, the past few seasons have not produced the results the company saw from 1986-1994 when Richard Childress Racing drivers captured six Winston Cup Series championships. Drivers such as Dale Earnhardt, Ricky Rudd and Neil Bonnett have raced for RCR. Last year, Kevin Harvick finished eighth in the Chase while Paul Menard (16th) and Jeff Burton (19th) missed out of the NASCAR postseason. Harvick joined RCR in 2001, taking the spot of the deceased Earnhardt, who won six titles with the team. The 2001 Rookie of the Year has been more than solid and likely represents the best chance the team has for a title this season after Harvick finished third in 2010 and 2011. In an interesting side note, Richard Childress Racing has had at least one driver in every Cup race since 1972, the longest such active streak in NASCAR. Harvick will drive the No. 29 Budweiser, while Menard with drive the No. 27. Menards and Burton will race in the No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet.

Richard Petty is the King of NASCAR, but his team is still searching for a title since coming into existence in 2009. The team was originally founded as Evernham Motorsports in 2000 before changing to Gillett Evernham in 2007. The company then merged with Petty Enterprises in 2009, but lost three drivers after the 2010 season. The company has stood strong over the past two seasons with Marcos Ambrose in the No. 9 Stanley Black & Decker Ford, and Aric Almirola in the No. 43 Smithfields Foods Ford. Ambrose finished 18th last year in the Sprint Cup Series points race with Almirola coming in No. 20 in his first full season on the major circuit. If Ambrose can build on the momentum he established last season with one win at Watkins Glenn (he has two victories at that course) and eight top-10 finishes, the Richard Petty team should expect to be competing in the Chase in 2013.

2013 TEAMS Roush Fenway Racing Owners: Jack Roush, John W. Henry, Fenway Sports Group Location: Concord, N.C. Drivers: Greg Biffle, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Carl Edwards Cup Championships: 2 While the Roush name has been synonymous with racing since the 1960s, Roush has been involved with NASCAR competition since just 1988. In 2007, the Fenway Sports Group purchased 50 percent of Roush Racing to get in the NASCAR game fresh off the team winning back-to-back Sprint Cup championships. While Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch have since departed, Roush Fenway still boasts an impressive lineup, complete with two-time series runner-up Carl Edwards and 2005 runner-up Greg Biffle, as well as, rookie of the year candidate Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. Edwards, who will saddle up in the No. 99 Fastenal Ford, and Biffle, who will drive the No. 16 3M Ford, should be the perfect teammates for the rookie Stenhouse, Jr., who will drive the No. 17 Best Buy Ford and compete for a shot at the Chase. Look for Edwards (who missed the Chase last year after losing out on the 2011 title to Tony Stewart in a tiebreaker) to make the Chase this year as he tries to return to the winner’s circle. Biffle won twice last year as he finished fifth in the points standings.

Stewart-Haas Racing Owners: Tony Stewart, Gene Haas Location: Kannapolis, N.C. Drivers: Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Danica Patrick Cup Championships: 1 Plenty of eyes will be on the StewartHaas team this year as NASCAR fans will want to see if owner-driver Tony “Smoke” Stewart can get back in the top three of the points chase and whether No. 10 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet driver Danica Patrick can win the rookie of the year title or come close to capturing a race. Patrick and Stewart, who will drive the No. 14 Bass Pro Shops Chevy, will also have Ryan Newman in the No. 39 Quicken Loans Chevy as a teammate. Last season, Newman finished outside of the Chase field, ending up at No. 14 in the final standings despite 14 top-10 finishes. Stewart-Haas Racing has been around since 2009 when Stewart joined up with Haas CNC Racing to form one of the most-talked about teams in NASCAR. Stewart proved he was more than capable of pulling off the owner-driver combination when he won the team’s first Sprint Cup Championship in 2011. Now the onus will be on Patrick to prove she can hang with the rest of the men of NASCAR.

2013 TEAMS OTHER TEAM NOTES: Wood Brothers Racing will feature just one driver this year, but Trevor Bayne is more than capable after winning the 2011 Daytona 500. He will command the No. 21 Motorcraft Ford. ... JTG Daugherty Racing is co-owned by former NBA star Brad Daugherty and will feature Bobby Labonte in the No. 47 Bush’s Baked Beans Toyota. Labonte finished No. 23 last year with just two top-10 finishes. ...Furniture Row Racing will also feature just one driver, but that one driver in the No. 78 Furniture Row Chevy will be 2004 Sprint Cup Champion Kurt Busch. Furniture Row Racing is the only NASCAR team headquartered in Colorado. ...BK Racing features two cars racing in Toyotas. David Reutimann was named the 2004 Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of the Year and has found some success over his NASCAR career. While the team is still relatively young, forming in 2012, Reutimann and Travis Kvapil could help put BK Racing on the map. ... FAS Lane Racing features three drivers sharing one ride, the No. 32 Federated Auto Parts Ford, as Ken Schrader, Terry Labonte and Timmy Hill will compete. Hill has announced he will compete for Rookie of the Year Honors. ... Germain Racing will once again back Casey Mears in the No. 13 GEICO Ford. Last year Mears made the top-30, but Germain is hoping he finds the form from the mid-2000s when he finished 14th in the points in 2006 and picked up the 2007 Coca-Cola 500 victory. ... Phoenix Racing will run the No. 51 Phoenix Construction Chevrolet with Regan Smith and A.J. Allmendinger sharing the ride. ... Headquartered in Mooresville, N.C., the Tommy Baldwin, Jr. team is owned by the former crew chief of the same name. The team will feature Dave Blaney in the No. 7 car and J.J Yeley in the No. 36 car this year.

After serving as the driver in place for injured Sterling Marlin, McMurray won in just his second NASCAR start at Charlotte in 2002. It would be another five years before McMurray would pick up another victory. McMurray’s most successful season by far was 2010, as he won both the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400. He finished 2010 with three wins and nine top-5 finishes. McMurray enters 2013 looking for his first trip to victory lane in three years.

2013 Team: Penske Racing Sponsor: Miller Lite Manufacturer: Ford Crew Chief: Paul Wolfe Brad Keselowski will enter the 2013 season as the king of the mountain because he is the defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion. He was able to beat five-time champion Jimmie Johnson by winning five races, placing in the top 5, 13 times and in the top 10, 23 times. Each year in the Sprint Cup, Keselowski has improved. He finished in fifth place overall in 2011 and 25th overall in 2010. Keselowski, along with Bobby Labonte, is one of only two drivers to win the Nationwide Cup as well as the Sprint Cup.

In 2012, Blaney raced in 34 races leading seven laps and finishing in 33rd place.

Ambrose finished 18th in the points standings, just outside of the Chase, but did match his best finish, which he first achieved in 2009. From 2007-2011, Ambrose won four Nationwide circuit races. Last year was filled with unfortunate crashes, but Patrick should be ready for a breakout season. Patrick finished 29th in the Erwin Tools Night race and at the Advocare 500. She finished in 25th place at Chicagoland, and 28th at Dover, and at the 2012 AAA Texas 500 at Texas, she finished on the lead lap in 24th position for the first time in her group racing career.

2013 Team: Germain Racing Sponsor: Geico Manufacturer: Ford Crew Chief: Bootie Barker Casey Mears did not win a race or place in the top 10 in 2012. However, under his second season with Germain Racing, Mears finished in 26th place in the overall standings in the Sprint Cup, which is the first time since 2009 he has finished in the top 30. Mears was able to win pole position in the Irwin Tools night races, which was the first time since 2007 he has grabbed the top starting spot in any race. The last time Mears won a Sprint Cup race was in 2007, winning the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Tony Stewart #14 Career

OTHER DRIVERS Kurt Busch #78 Mike Bliss - A true journeyman of NASCAR, Bliss has been at least a part-time Sprint Cup driver for 14 years. The 47-year old has been a full-time driver in the Nationwide Series each of the last five seasons. In that span he has one victory (2009 in Charlotte), 12 Top-5 finishes, and 36 Top-10 showings. In terms of yearly finishes, Bliss has found himself in the Nationwide Top 10 four times. He has started about half the Sprint Cup races in the last four seasons and owns two Top 10s in that span. No word on a 2013 ride at press time. T.J. Bell (R) - After only competing in 10 races over the last two years in Sprint Cup events, T.J. Bell ended 2012 in 70th position overall. Bell’s average starting position was 40.6 with his best finish being 30th in back-to-back races. Judging by Bell’s overall participation and performance in 2012, he will likely compete more in the Nationwide Series in 2013. His statistics were much more impressive on that level with him competing in 22 races, with a best finish being 24th at the Drive4COPD 300 on Feb. 25. Robert Richardson (R) - Richardson has made only eight starts in four seasons of Sprint Cup action. His best career finish came in his very first race—an 18th-place showing at Talladega in November of 2009. His most productive Sprint Cup year came in 2010, when he started his engine four times and recorded an average finish of 29.2. The 30-year old has spent most of his time as a member of the Nationwide Series (where he debuted in 2007), but he is still looking for his first Top-10 finish at any level.

The Advocare 500 is back under the lights on Labor Day Weekend as AMS will host another night race on Sept. 1. The track has been perhaps the fastest overall in all of NASCAR over the past few decades. In 2012, Denny Hamlin took the checkered flag with an average speed of 142.02 miles per hour, the fastest since Tony Stewart in 2006. Hamlin’s win followed his third win of the year, the week before at Bristol Motor Speedway making him the first driver of the year to have back-to-back wins. The track recently dropped to a one-race season after 50 years of hosting two NASCAR events.

Auto Club Speedway

The Los Angeles area gets its NASCAR fix early in the season with the Auto Club 400 on March 24. A fairly new track completed in 1997, the former California Speedway hosted two races from 2004 until last season when the Sprint Cup schedule dropped it down to one due to continuing attendance problems. Rain stopped the race after just 129 laps, but Tony Stewart was able dominate posting an average speed of 160.166 mph, the fastest average speed ever completed in the Auto Club 400. Jimmy Johnson still leads all-time poles at ACS with five.

Bristol Motor Speedway The famed Tennessee track celebrated its 50th anniversary during the 2010 season. Bristol will host the Food City 500 on March 17 and the Irwin Tools night race on Aug. 24. Bristol was expanded to a capacity of more than 160,000 a decade ago, which ranked it as the second biggest track on the circuit. The short, but fast track is conducive to high-speed action due to the high banking (which was once claimed to be 36 degrees, but is now listed as 24-30). Brad Keselowski won at the Food City 500 in 2012, and Denny Hamlin won his third race of the season by taking the Irwin Tools Night Race.

Charlotte Motor Speedway Referred to as Lowe’s Motor Speedway up until 2010, CMS will have the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day Weekend and the Bank of America 500, the fifth event of the Chase on Oct. 12. The May 26 Memorial Day race is the longest on the circuit and has been the only venue to ever host a 600-mile Cup race, which it has held since 1960. In 2011, CMS completed the construction of an HD video screen (that measures as one of the largest in the world at over 200 feet) on Turn 2. The track will also welcome the NASCAR All-Star Race on May 18.

Chicagoland Speedway The Geico 400 will again be the first of 10 Chase races on Sept. 15 this year. Chicagoland accommodates 75,000 spectators, and has 18-degree banking at all four turns. This is a fast track among intermediates, and has a reputation as a track that is infamous for passing. Brad Keselowski won the Geico 400 in 2012 with an average speed at 143.363 mph. Since the race first hit the Sprint Cup schedule in 2001, Tony Stewart has won three times. Kevin Harvick has not won since taking the first two runnings.

Darlington Raceway

One of the smaller, but most beloved venues on the circuit, this South Carolina track is a perennial sell out with its capacity of 61,000. The track will once again host the Bojangle’s Showtime Southern 500, which will take place May 11. Darlington is one of the oldest active tracks built specifically for NASCAR, joining the rotation in 1950. It is an exciting intermediate track that is notoriously tough on tires. Drivers often hit the wall several times during a race after the track has worn down the tires, and these slippery turns create what are known as “Darlington stripes” on the car when they bump the wall.

Daytona Intl. Speedway Along with Indianapolis and Pocono, Daytona is the second longest superspeedway on the circuit at 2.5 miles, behind only Talladega. Trevor Bayne sent shockwaves through the NASCAR population in 2011 by becoming the youngest winner of the Daytona 500 just a day after his 20th birthday. Last season, Matt Kenseth won the 500, known as one of NASCAR’s great traditions. Daytona, along with Talladega, has required the use of restrictor plates since 1998. The Coke Zero 400 will take place July 6 and Tony Stewart will come in as the defending champ. Richard Petty owns the track-record with seven victories.

Dover Intl. Speedway Completed in 1969, Dover lies at the upper limit of the “short track” designation. A mile long, its 24-degree banking on turns and 9-degree banking on straight-aways produces racing spectacles. It is just one of three oval-shaped tracks to be paved with concrete. Its nickname the “Monster Mile” was given for its reputation for being tough on race cars. The Delaware track hosts two races per year and holds a capacity crowd at 135,000 fans. In 2012 Jimmy Johnson, who has the most wins at Dover, added another with a win at the FedEx 400. Brad Keselowski won the AAA 400 on September 30 adding to his solid season.

Homestead-Miami Speedway Since 2002, Homestead has closed out the NASCAR season with the Sprint Cup Series championship being handed out following the season-ending race. Greg Biffle has also won three races there, but last year it was Jeff Gordon who took the checkered flag. The South Florida track is also home to Ford Championship Weekend as the Nationwide Series and the Camping World Truck Series also wrap up their seasons at the track. Indianapolis Motor Speedway The Brickyard 400 (July 28) has been one of the top races on the NASCAR calendar since 1994 when Jeff Gordon drove to victory in the 160-lap event. That particular race was the first race other than the Indianapolis 500 to be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 1916. The track itself was built in 1909 and holds more than 257,000 spectators. The track has four 1/4-mile turns with two 5/8-mile long straightaways and two 1/8-mile short straight-aways. Gordon and Jimmie Johnson have each kissed the bricks four times during their careers.

The track opened in 2001 and holds 81,687 spectators in Kansas City. The track recently went through a few changes including an increase in the banking from the old 15 degrees to 17-20 degrees. Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle and Tony Stewart have all captured a pair of wins at the track since 2001.

Kentucky Speedway

More than 107,000 people can fill the grandstands at the Sparta, Ky., track. Construction on the track did not begin until 1998 and was completed two years later. The Sprint Cup Series did not venture to Kentucky, however, until 2011 when Kyle Busch captured the checkered flag. Last year, points champion Brad Keselowski won and set the track record with a time of 2:45:02. The circuit returns in 2013 for the Quaker State 400 on June 29. The Nationwide, Camping World Truck Series and IndyCar Series also race at the Kentucky Speedway.

Martinsville Speedway NASCAR will come to the shortest track on the main circuit twice in 2013. The Martinsville 500 will take place early on in the season on April 7, before the field continues its chase for a championship at Martinsville on Oct. 27 with the Goody’s Fast Relief 500. One year ago Ryan Newman won early on, but Jimmie Johnson would take the second race, the first of two straight down the stretch to put the defending champion in a position to challenge for yet another title. Interestingly enough, the stops at Martinsville have been happening since NASCAR opened for business in 1948.

Michigan Int. Speedway The Michigan International Speedway has been open for NASCAR races since 1972. On June 16, NASCAR will race the Quicken Loans 400 before returning Aug. 18 for the Pure Michigan 400. At last year’s June race, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., earned his first victory since 2008 when he also won in Michigan. Greg Biffle has claimed three wins here since 2004. MIS is most known for its wide, sweeping corners, helping to earn the title of “fastest track in NASCAR.”

The course is generally 1.058 miles but can be made into a 1.6-mile road course. In 2013, the course will host the Famers Insurance race on July 15, and the FedEx Freight race on Sept. 23.

Phoenix Intl. Raceway Located in Avondale, this track serves the metro Phoenix area by hosting the Subway Fresh Fit 500 and the Advocare 500. Due to the unbearable heat in the Valley of the Sun, the two cup races are held early in the spring and late in the fall. Since 1988, Phoenix has been destination on the circuit. The track was completed in 1964, but did not host a NASCAR event until 1978. The track seats a modest 67,000.

The three turns are the sharpest on the tour and are each modeled after turns at other tracks. Turn one is modeled after Trenton Speedway (now defunct), turn two is designed like the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and turn three like The Milwaukee Mile. Pocono hosts two Sprint Cup races: the Pocono 400 and The Pennsylvania 400. Jeff Gordon owns the track record with six wins, while Mark Martin has the most top-five finishes (20) and top-10 finishes (34).

Hosting just one race per season, Watkins Glen has one of the more unusual layouts of any track on the circuit. It has had five different layouts since it opened in 1956 and now utilizes just the “boot” layout and the 1971 “Six Hours” layout. The track is exceptionally long at 2.45 miles, yet has a capacity of just 41,000. The Cheez-It 355 at the Glen is the lone race in the 2013 season. Tony Stewart has a record five wins at “The Glen” while Mark Martin leads with 12 top five’s and 16 top 10’s. The track is owned by the International Speedway Corporation.

One of the newer tracks on the circuit, Texas was opened in Fort Worth in 1996 and, at 1.5 miles with 24 degree banking, was made to resemble the feel at the speedways in Atlanta and Charlotte. Texas is one of the faster tracks in NASCAR as times over 190 MPH are recorded regularly. The track has hosted two Spring Cup events each year since 2004, and Carl Edwards has won the most races here with three. Matt Kenseth leads all drivers with 13 top 10s and 10 top 5s. Like the Lone Star state, Texas Motor Speeday is gigantic, with an enormous capacity of 191,122.

Sprint Cup Chase System • Twelve drivers will run the Chase. • The top 10 in points following Race • No. 26 qualify. • The final two spots will be determined by the number of wins during the • first 26 races. • Positions 11 and 12 are "wild card" qualifiers and will go to non-top-10• ranked drivers with the most wins, as long as they're ranked in the top 20 in points. Ties are broken by points posi-

tion, then by 2nd-place finishes, 3rd, etc. The top-10 Chase drivers will be seeded based on wins during the first 26 races, with each win worth three bonus points. The wild card drivers will not receive bonus points for wins and will be seeded 11th and 12th, respectively. For the last ten races, NASCAR points are still assigned the same way as the rest of the season to determine the champion.
