Gospel 4 U Magazine One Mind, One Body and One Spirit

THE BIBLE MAKES IT PLAIN IN THE BOOK OF HABAKKUK CHAPTER 2, THAT WE SHOULD WRITE THE VISION AND MAKE IT PLAIN. THIS NEW SEASON OR YEAR THAT WE ARE ENTERING IN IS A YEAR OF RESTORATION. A YEAR WHEN GOD WILL REDEEM THE TIMES AND THINGS THAT THE ENEMY HAS STOLEN, I DARE YOU FOLLOW THE WORD OF GOD AND WATCH AS WELL AS PRAY AND THE TESTIMONIES WILL BE GREAT BECAUSE OF THE POWER OF HIS HOLY SPIRIT.

-Joanna Birchett

Happy New Year, and welcome to 2014. 2013 has been a great year for some but a hard year for others - but I sense in my Spirit that God is making ALL things new. I decree and Declare a Year God will REDEEM and RESTORE. According to Joel 2:25-26 “And I wi# restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpi#er, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye sha# eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people sha# never be ashamed.”

I believe that 2014 will be a year of divine Restoration. Everything that was lost, stolen or taken from us will be Redeemed. As you read these Declarations or Articles, I pray that something will encourage and motivate you so that your faith can be activated to receive ALL God has for YOU in this new season. Thank you all for your great support, your prayers and your many words of encouragement. Be Blessed!

left - but eventually they will go their own way. When this does happen, we don’t talk about them or try to stop them from leaving - their season in our life may be over. In our maturity, we have to have wisdom to bless them in the name of the Lord and let them go. Their e need each other; God has ordained us to be in next season in life may not include us or our next season covenant relationships so that we can use our gifts, talents, wisdom and knowledge to advance His Kingdom may not include them. If we truly believe that our steps are ordered by the Lord and He is leading us and guiding in the earth. There is one relationship in the bible that us into all truth, then we have to trust in His sovereignty really reveals how being in a covenant relationship to bring His Will to pass. If those that walked away from brought forth destiny and purpose - not only for a us were ordained to be in a covenant relationship and it person, but for a nation. The relationship that I am was an attack of the enemy - then we have to trust in speaking of is that of Ruth and Naomi. Ruth’s God’s ability to reconcile and restore the relationship. relationship with Naomi brought forth the birth of Ruth did not question Orpah’s decision. She was more Jesse, who is the father of King David. The scripture reveals that God used King David mightily in the nation concerned with being connected to Naomi than judging Orpah’s decision to return back to Moab. Ruth caught a of Israel and King David’s words are still inspiring us today through the book of Psalms. Ruth is a true picture revelation of the God Naomi served and was willing to forsake her old way of life in Moab to gain a new way of of loyalty. Ruth demanded a relationship with Naomi life with the God Naomi served. even though Naomi did not want one with her because of her own hurts and pains. We need to break free from judgmental attitudes towards each other and form a covenant-binding oath that will not be easily broken by anyone or anything. Ruth and Naomi developed a covenant relationship. Ruth would not allow Naomi to take her journey alone. It would be a powerful thing for us to insist that we will not allow those who God has ordained us to be in covenant with, not to take this journey in life alone.

There will be some who we meet that God has not called us to be in covenant with - either by our decision or theirs. Orpah was the other daughter-in-law of Naomi and she decided to go back to Moab, her country. COVER STORY 2014 Holding on to your Faith

- Pastor Joanna Birchett

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. ~ 1 Corinthians 15:58

T

he Word of God is our manual for living and

there are no mistakes in it. In the book of Ephesians 5: 15-16, “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Let your focus be on Christ, not on the world - we have to walk upright in these times. My Brothers and Sisters, 2013 has ended and we have entered into a new season. I am here to encourage someone that felt like giving up, or could not see a way out or that everything that has been lost - God is able to redeem it all. I Decree today that EVERYTHING that you have been waiting on, EVERYTHING that you have prayed for - nothing will be denied if you hold on to your Faith. There are always sufferings before success and as long as we hold fast to God’s Word, we shall see the Lord fight our battles. Beloved I urge you to stand fast in your faith and get into position; you might ask, what position do I mean? Get on your knees. It is on your knees that you will touch the heart of God and get the courage to STAND fast. Get in the realm of His presence and you will begin to see things in a different light. We have to understand that no matter what you went through in 2013, God has Greater in store for you - more greater than you can begin to comprehend. The truth is that we all are waiting on God for something and whatever that something is, it will not come faster than we want it to - but if we hold on to God’s unchanging hand, we will see the results in His timing. You might have had a rough year in 2013, you may have lost loved ones or lost everything; but I hear the Word declare that the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and they are saved ~ Proverbs 18:10

God’s Word is BOND. The word of God gives us a surety and an assurance of fulfillment. Jesus said that even if the heavens and earth pass away - His words would never pass away. God is not a man that He should lie or change His mind. We can trust His promises with full assurance that He would fulfill what he has promised. PAGE 8

So for the next 7 days, I double dare you to meditate on these 7 scriptures that the Lord gave to me just for you. Declare and Decree them into the atmosphere in Faith, believing that they will manifest in the natural and the Lord will bring you victory!

1. Psalm1:3 - say it like this: “I am like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, I am yielding 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.

fruit in season NOW! THIS IS MY SEASON; my leaf does not wither and in whatever I do, I prosper.” Jeremiah 30:17 - “You are restoring health to me and healing my wounds Lord.” Proverbs 11:25, I declare - “I will be exceedingly generous and I will be exceedingly prosperous. I water and I am watered. Psalm 18:33 - He maketh my feet like hind’s feet and setteth me upon my high places. Matthew 11:12 - I am the violent and everything that the enemy has stolen, I take back by force. Romans 8:27 - I am more than a conqueror. Mark 11:23 - I am a Woman/Man of Faith and I shall speak to mountains and it shall be removed

After saying these declarations on a daily basis, I pray that you begin to trust God’s plan for your life and as you begin to study the Word of God, it will teach you how to apply it to your life in this new season that you have entered. Begin to do what God requires of you, believe His Word - use your keys in this season (Prayer) and Hold fast to your Faith because “The Best is yet to come”. God is going to redeem the times and just like Psalm 1:1-2 states, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” GET IN THE WORD and watch your company because the only one that can stop you from receiving is YOU! 2014 is the year that God will Redeem and Restore God Bless!

A CUT ABOVE

- Dr. Arlene Paulette Birchett

This is a true story. While conversing with my beloved Mom, Barbara O. Robinson about a marriage prospect, she got ancient on me. She said: “Don’t take any wooden nickels!” What did she mean by the statement? I have learned it is an old American adage, which is considered a lighthearted reminder to be cautious in one’s dealings. I value knowledge coming from a Godly woman who may have journeyed down this road before. There is nothing new under the sun. We benefit from the rewarding stories and winning experiences of others. Mom warned me to be patient and to wait on the Lord. Many singles especially women, tend to not know their great value. On the other hand, these women can learn to not be fooled by appearances or settle for ‘lesser than the best’ partner. Be intent to pass over the fake or pretentious individuals that society often trades off as ‘popular’. Clearly a Mom’s desire for her daughter is God’s best for her life. Mom set the Godly standard for me and treated me as her priceless treasure. I would not expect anything less of anyone else - especially my potential spouse and partner, because there is a treasure on the inside of every person. The question is, “Are our treasures buried under any selfdoubt, fear, shame, pain, etc.?” It is imperative to first know our worth and to have the right people surround us in prayer, wisdom and actions that may prove they value

us. Otherwise, I believe “God will prepare a table before us in the presence of our enemies…” (Psalm 23:5) We are like children that are valuable and precious to God.

Adam considered Eve to be priceless - a prize, stunning, dynamic and gorgeous rare gem. Like most women, Eve’s makeup comprises a treasure of joyful - yet painful experiences as well. As a result, my life and Although God designed the first vocation is ‘to bring value to all marriage to bring the picturepeople to know their worth.’ I perfect couple together as equals believe in empowering others to before the fall. I believe God before meeting the right person compares our inner beauty as created for you. I believe a priceless - exceeding the outside appearance, or value of rare jewels woman cut above the rest, confidently compliments her man and commodities. I believe the and vice versa. GOSPEL 4 U MAGAZINE Ruth’s reputation for acts of kindness preceded her in the community. Boaz praised her for being a worthy woman (Proverbs 31:29-30). Let me emphasize that his focus was on her loving character of kindness. No doubt she discerned his loyalty, love, affordability and was willing to pay the price for what she needed. Being mentored by Naomi, she was not willing to compromise her values (Ruth 3:10-11). Ruth understood what it is to be in community and they responded by treating her with kindness, too. God went to great lengths to show us mercy, grace and love for all people. It is not how you start a journey but how you end it. This widower and poor foreigner became Boaz’s wife, a mother of Obed and great grandmother of King David from the lineage of Christ. Our Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ paid a great price for all people on the cross. Let me end by saying, too many women are waiting to be valued by not only men - but by other people. Celebrate life as priceless women who bring value first to God with a divine purpose of self, family and lastly others. We do not need the approval of people to value us. We bring value to ourselves by how we think about loving God. We bring value to love our whole selves and cherish good relationships. We are “… fearfully and wonderfully made by God.” (Psalm 139) Every facet of our lives should radiate and shine for Christ. Being a cut above the rest, I know the beauty of being single and married in my Christian life. Marriage is sometimes over-rated being so many are not ready for the committed relationship. You have to be called and prepare yourself as a healthy single or whole person before you can join as one or become a couple. Also, not everyone is called to be married and have

JANUARY 2014 children. Singleness is truly a precious and priceless gift. I have learned to be content in both singleness of heart and mind. Being married or single, it is more important to be a virtuous woman, one “...who fears the Lord shall be praised.” (Proverb 31:30) Besides in our singleness, you can be alone but not lonely. We know the man is the hunter in the relationship, not the woman. Women who know their value, are a cut above and are being chased by a worthy man. The question is, “Will you know to let the right man chase you? I encourage single women of great price to use Godly wisdom to know the differences between authentic and counterfeit. There is a worthy man for you that God ordains and will send to find you. Remember, you are the prize - a cut above the rest. Do not be anxious for anything. Do find yourselves busy in a loving relationship with God and the work of the Kingdom ministry. God will take care of you.

Prayer is the birth place where miracles begin… - Jennifer Marlowe

Prayer group starts at 7a.m., I'm running late because of my job, but this has become my usual routine. My prayer group knows that on Saturday mornings I can be up to an hour late due to traffic. But it is during that time, that I'm getting myself ready to enter into the corporate worship with the group.

Prayer has taught me the art of conversation - when to speak, when not to, how to listen intensively and sometimes to just bask in the silence. It is in that same silence that I am waiting and anticipating His next word. Prayer helped me during my mom’s sickness and her death. It has helped through lonely days and restless nights. The Vision of Light Vision is the state or faculty of being able to see - and beloved I believe that God is giving the body of Christ the ability to see again. In the Old Testament, there are numerous places that let us know there were periods when the voice of God was hidden or scarce. However whenever He decided to speak again, it was in a double or triple portion. The coming year of 2014 will be one of these banner types of years for God’s light bearers and salt spreaders.

-Pastor Larry Birchett Jr. 2014 Vision #1

I’ve commonly stated that the reason that the church is not experiencing an even greater growth, is because the world is not seeing the manifest power of the Holy Spirit in the midst of His congregations. God is positioning His seasoned saints for a breakout year where the power of God will once again be on exhibit. Refer to the book of Matthew. Matthew 5:13-16 You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It wi# be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world – like a city on a hi#top that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts in under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everything in the house. In the same way Let your light so shine before men that they me see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven. It’s up to us to let the world know what the sons and daughters of God have that they don’t and in order to do that, we have to keep our seasoning. We can’t get so stale that no one will want to taste and see. We have to allow our opinions and

thoughts to be God-driven and come straight from the Word of God. Don’t allow your preference to become your only reference. Let God have the final say in the matter. If God says that we can decree a thing and it shall be so, then it is so. If He has told us that we can lay our hands on the sick and they shall recover, then it is so. We are God’s salt to be used to season this earth and in 2014 we will be on showcase - and as a warning to His choice servants, the stakes will be higher. God is not into stars because He made all of the stars that He needs, PAGE 18

so therefore any of us that don’t have the heart of the Shepherd to save the lost at all costs will be exposed and reset for service. Be encouraged as we enter into a new year because it’s a new season; a fresh start and new beginning where God will get all of the glory via his salt and light bearers through His Son Jesus Christ. God Bless.

2014 VISION-YEAR OF BREAKTHROUGH

- Pastor Renile E. Smith

And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it (Habakkuk 2:2).

I am Pastor Renile E. Smith - Senior Pastor of the Church of the Living God, located at 2402 West Fayette Street in Baltimore, Maryland 21223. The COTLG-Baltimore is located in the inner city and I believe God has called me to raise awareness and support to the surrounding community and businesses. I endeavor to strengthen the lives of everyone through and by our various ministries. I am glad to share that God has blessed us to purchase a vacant warehouse located directly next door to our existing church facility, creating a campus of hope. We will be breaking ground in 2014! Our new building expansion project is sure to bring forward additional empowering ministries, community outreach programs and above all - more souls to Christ. Therefore, I must prepare the people of God to get ready and arm themselves with the Word for this next-level movement.

(breaking) down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). Knowing God’s mandate on my life - I must work with vigor to strengthen the Body of Christ through and by the Word of God. We were faithful over a few things, now God is making us rulers over many…our time is here! The year 2014 is proclaimed to be “The Year of Our Breakthrough,” and the operative word is not “breakthrough” it is “OUR”. So, we corporately await the manifestation our breakthrough.

“2014 is the year of OUR Breakthrough” As we approach 2014, I heard the Lord saying to me, “This wi# be the year of a breakthrough for my people.” After receiving God’s decree to the church, I thought to make our New Year proclamation: “The Year of Our Breakthrough.” My divine assignment is to gird up the people of God and to prepare them for their breakthrough. I understand that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal - but mighty God to the pulling

Vision for 2014- Getting the truth out there 2014 Vision #3

My vision and commitment for 2014 is to prepare the hearts and minds of all people to face their mortality without fear, and expose them to the truth (with untainted love) which will give them clear assurance of where they will spend eternity. It is for sure that all men must die, and after death, there is judgment. Hebrews 9:27 gives account of this, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

- Bishop Rosette Coney It is only through the truth that all men can be free from the bondage of sin. John 8:32 reads, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” This truth comes from the rightly divided Word of God, my personal experiences and testimonies of God's miracles in my own life. Acts 10:42 reads, “And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.” Exposing the truth will also be accomplished through the training and development of those who work in the ministry directly under me. They will be trained to become effective fishers of men, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, and bringing lost souls into the house of God so that they can be fed spiritually by hearing the truth and be prepared for their mortality. Ultimately these precious souls will be rapture ready.

Now, Satan has transformed the truth into lies and has transmitted those lies into the ears, minds and hearts of all souls in the world - lies that spawn failure, low self esteem, loneliness, anger, depression, oppression, hatred, poverty, sicknesses and diseases. There is an epidemic of psychological There is a time to live and a time turbulence throughout the land. It to die. This is confirmed in seems as though the sanity of people Ecclesiastes 3:2 which reads, “A time has gone completely south. to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;” My vision is to see that people everywhere get exposed to the truth.

The truth is that God will keep you in perfect peace, regardless of your situations or circumstances. Isaiah 26:3 reads, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” The truth is that He wants us to be content with what we have and not be envious of what others have, because He promised that He would never leave us alone. Hebrews 13:5 reads, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” The truth is that Jesus came to save all those who are lost. Matthew 18:11 reads, “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.” The truth is that Jesus wants us to have abundant life. John 10:10 reads, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” The truth is that God wants us to prosper and not fail, in all areas of our lives. 3 John 1:2 reads, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

My vision is to be able to impact the entire world with the truth – through the Word that I teach and preach, through the life I live before people and the service that I give. When they hear, see and feel the truth and believe it they can become over comers. It is through their acceptance of the truth that they can gain victory in this world and in the world to come. John 5:24 reads, “ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” My platform is godly love, integrity, and the demo of unshakeable faith in the Almighty God. I firmly believe that “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Phil. 4:13) The God that I serve will help me bring this vision to full fruition in 2014. Amen! Living in the O verflow - By Bishop-Designate Dionne Butts Psalm 23:5-‐6 declares, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and loving-‐kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (NASB)

2014 Vision #4

It is the beginning of a New Year. A fresh anointing and oil will flow our way. Despite what the enemy tried to do to defeat the saints of God, we are still standing. Reflecting on all that transpired in the year of 2013, I rejoice in the fact that Father kept me in my right mind and even saved some folk from destruction. There were many who were distracted by their circumstances and confused about their current situation. However, I have learned not to look at the circumstances and situations - just fix my eyes on Jesus. A promise is a promise, regardless what the enemy is throwing your way. As a matter of fact, if the enemy is trying to set you back or take you out - that is a clear indication that you are headed for breakthrough, blessings and overflow.

Therefore, this writing comes from the abundance of God’s grace and love overflowing in the lives of women, who I have come in kingdom connections with throughout the years. In light of economic crisis - spiritually bankrupt pastors, teachers and preachers and perversion of the Gospel; the Spirit of God has continued to pursue the people of God. Despite what the enemy is doing, we are still ALIVE. Many people have fallen away from the faith or question God’s grace. Many saints feel limited by lack, disappointment, frustration, sickness, death and setback - but I want to encourage you today, that you have been ‘set-back’ to be ‘set-up’ for a comeback. Psalm 23:5-6 declares, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and loving-kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (NASB) The Father delights in preparing a table of plenty for your soul and your life. He delights in favoring you when the enemy tries to destroy you; the Father’s favor on your life causes your husband and wife to be blessed. It’s the overflow of favor on your life that flows down to your children and their children. It is the overflow of favor on your life that flows down to those you minister to.

2014 DECLARATIONS - YEAR OF DIVINE PERFECTION

We have entered into a new year and whatsoever God has started in the Ministries, he will perfect it.

The Word of God tells us in Job 22:28 “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” Here are my Declarations for 2014 •

I Decree and Declare that there will be divine increase in leadership empowerment.

I Decree and Declare a release in leaders that will empower them to go bear multiple fruit and increase their power of retention.

I Decree and Declare increase in the sending of missionaries to Africa and countries that are in need of help.

I Decree and Declare a personal leadership development to raise up leaders to not only lead - but to be the foundation of the Church so that the younger generation may also walk in the light of the lord.

I Decree and Declare that the Lord will make provision for the homeless and less fortunate.

I Decree and Declare that Jehovah Rophe will bring healing in the hospitals, in the homes or anyone that needs Gods divine healing.

2014 Vision #5

Upon theses declarations I seal them in the name of Jesus and I call them done in Jesus’ name.

2014 VISION - BUILDING HIS KINGDOM - Apostle Earl Palmer

Just like the children of Israel had to prepare to cross the Jordan, so we today need to start making preparations for believing the Lord as we approach this New Year. ' Many of us are coming out of experiences and even memories that we would like to forget, so as we draw nigh to the New Year - we can’t help but raise our expectations. As the Children of Israel cried out unto the Lord (Ex. 14:10), so we need to cry out to Jesus.

2014 Vision #6

' Each cry will be different, as we have different visions - ministry gifts, aspirations, hopes, dreams and callings. However, in spite of our individual gifting and visions, there is still a Kingdom mandate that we are all joined to. It is this Kingdom mandate that I intend to address for this upcoming New Year. ' While we all aspire to live better lives spiritually, emotionally, financially, physically and intellectually in accordance to the Word of God, there is nothing wrong with that. Each new year many flock the local gyms as they made New Year’s resolutions on losing weight. Yet after a few weeks, or maybe for others, a few months - they abandon their resolutions; they give up, quit and “throw in the towel”. So, it is important to understand that we are not talking about New Year’s resolutions; for we see that they seldom last. Before I mention the mandate for the New Year, God Himself gave this as a command - not a resolution, not something that is left up to our choice; we were already commanded by Jesus to do this. As we approach this New Year, let us not focus on the Lord’s blessings - even though we are desperately in need of His favor and blessings, Amen! But rather, let us remember the Words of Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20, which states: ' “Go ye therefore, and teach a# nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe a# things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” '

Our Kingdom mandate is clear, it is undeniable; we are to go and win souls for the Kingdom, whatever our role might be. We have always asked the Lord for blessings. As this New Year approaches, let us be a blessing. Let us not be so busy doing “the work of the Lord” that we forget doing God’s work, that which He commanded us to do. Remember, He that winneth souls is wiseThere is no greater joy than one soul entering the Kingdom; the angels rejoice over one soul entering the Kingdom. God is not impressed with us building our own Kingdoms, He is however delighted about us Building His Kingdom. Amen!
