The band Rammstein wishes to express its support for the nation of Ukraine as it resists the shocking attack perpetrated by the Russian government.

Above all at this moment, we feel particular grief for the suffering of the Ukrainian people.

Each member of the band has various experiences of the two countries; all members of the band have friends, associates, partners, fans in both lands.

We acknowledge the desperation that many Russian fans may feel when faced with the actions of their government, and we want to remember the humanity shared by both Russian and Ukrainian citizens.

Dmytro ‘Orest’ Kozatskyi of Azov Battalion took to Twitter to show his last photos before he his final stand site at Azovstal steelworks.

26-year-old soldier reached out to his followers asking them to share his photography portraying the months’ long siege of Azovstal.

Kozytski said he posted ‘high-resolution’ images so they could be sent to photography contests and seen by wider audience.

‘If I win something, it will be an exciting thing’, added the soldier.

He also thanked people for support to Azov Battalion, adding hopeful ‘see you’ in the end.

Side-Line presents you «Electronic Resistance», a 55-track compilation featuring darkwave / post-punk acts from the Ukrainian underground scene only.

Compiled in the past few weeks in - extremely - difficult conditions it offers you an insight into the Ukrainian dark underground and also reflects what all of them are going through. It suffices to see some of the titles to understand what we mean.

The compilation features artists from allover Ukraine, from Odesa, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Mariupol, etc.. Many of them are right now in the frontline, or help in all kind of services from the fire departement to field hospitals. Others are distributing food, others have been forced out of their destroyed homes.

- It’s time to act, instead of just talking -

All donations will go to the bands involved and/or a humanitarian project of their choice. Now it is up to us to support them. Although this is a free compilation, we do encourage everyone to be very generous.

The release goes hand in hand with a photo book which will act as a testimonial of every band participating in this compilation. The release of this book is planned for early May as everyone pre-ordering the photo book by mid-April will be added in the credits as sponsor. You can also support the artists by getting your ‘Electronic Resistance’ T-shirt, or a packet holding both the photo book and the T-shirt.

«It has been a very confronting job to compile this release. Here I was sitting at home replying to messages from musicians who were at the frontline ... I knew things were bad, but being confronted in direct with this horror is a punch in the face. We all complain about high prices at the gas station, me included, but that’s really nothing compared to what the Ukrainian people are going through right now.

The book that we will publish will even be a bigger confrontation for many. There you will see the musicians whose music you listen to. You will see how they are just like you and me. With this difference, they live in a country invaded by an agressor and they live in constant fear.

Some of the material has been recorded in pretty hefty conditions, including at least one during bombardments on Kiev. Other musicians lost all of their gear and files and only had rough material left which Erlend Eilertsen (Lights A.M, Essence Of Mind) worked on to restore to the best sound possible.»

How Come Back Alive Helps

Our fund supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine through financing purely defence initiatives. Since 2014 we have provided around 1000 thermal imagers and over 250 UAVs. In addition to the material support, we increased technological capabilities of the Army through providing 1,500 tablets with Armor software aimed at stopping the artillery.

Come Back Alive also organizes trainings to equip our military with crucial skills. In 2015 we launched trainings for medical workers, artillerists, snipers, minesweepers, and defence analysts. After coming back from the front line, our military members have access to sport rehabilitation and veteran business opportunities. Our organization does not use funds for purchasing arms. Our mission is limited to supplying technology, trainings, and accouterments to help save lives of Ukrainians and help our warriors defend Ukraine.

What’s Happening In Ukraine:

On February 24th, 2022, Russia began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This is the big war in Europe. Putin is using aviation, artillery, and missiles. Cities are being bombed with battles happening across the country. 8 years ago, Russia annexed the Ukrainian territory of Crimea and invaded the Donbas region of Ukraine, and has since intensified efforts to destabilize Ukraine. Russia will keep on going until stopped by a substantial military resistance.

Two weeks ago I was completely against this type of action but today has just tipped me over the edge - people killed waiting for bread and killed while taking refuge in a theatre. The atrocities being commited by Russia on Ukraine is disgusting. Every single day there is a new war crime to see, more crying children, more dead mothers. It’s horrendous.

We’re just a small band from Ireland, maybe nobody will care or notice but if we can make just one person in Russia ask themselves ‘why are Cruachan doing this?’ and they then take the time and effort to find out what is happening in Ukraine in their name, then it will have been worth it.

I know, and accept, that most Russian people have no idea what’s going on and still remain good people, unfortunately for most (not all) - they are good ‘brainwashed’ people due to the extreme control of the state, they are not seeing this war. The name ‘Russia’ is being destroyed, it is covered in the blood of thousands of innocent Ukrainian civilians. We hope Russia sees sense and ends, not only the war, but its authoritarian rule on its citizens. As soon as Russia cops itself on we will of course remove these restrictions.

Watching the news that Russian missiles have just destroyed the Opera House in Freedom Square Kharkiv, where DP played almost exactly 20 years ago, memorable for Ian Gillan donning a tutu he found in a dressing room cupboard and proclaiming himself “Deep Purple in Frock”, for the gear arriving at 7pm and somehow the show starting at 8pm, for an old apparatchik single-handedly trying to make the young audience sit back down during the set with such zeal that he had a seizure, and next day on the way back to the airport my asking about a statue ”Is that Lenin?”, Roger Glover replying, “Well it’s definitely not McCartney”. A different day today I have just written to Dmitri Medvedev, former President and now head of the Russian Security Council, returning the autograph he gave me at the dinner for Deep Purple at the Gorky Palace in March 2011, in protest at his various statements post invasion.

If speaking out means we shall never see our Russian friends again, then that is a big sacrifice, but nothing compared with never again seeing our Ukrainian friends who are being killed to satisfy the psychopathic ambitions of the Russian leader. I would like to see Russians on the streets in their millions, to show their disgust at the Ukrainian invasion, and I’d like to dream that very quickly, Russia can find some modern leadership that will bring them back into the world as friends. We have so much in common.

What’s happening is beyond distressing. It’s criminal and should be treated as such. The invasion of Putin’s army into Ukraine, (because that’s what it is), I hope will turn out to bring his ultimate downfall. I just wanted to write to say the Goths of Toronto, Canada stand with Ukraine.

At our Dracula’s Daughter event on Saturday, (Toronto’s oldest regular goth event) we raised $1500 for the Red Cross Ukrainian Humanitarian Crisis relief fund and we continue to do what we can to help raise awareness and oppose Putin’s disinformation and propaganda.

Putin has started to say crazy things, literally accusing LGBTQ people of treason. Anyone who hears that should start to be able to see that he has become delusional. He has lost his mind and people in Russia must be starting to see the truth! The UN voted to condemn the invasion of Ukraine, and only Russian Federation, North Korea, Belarus and Eritrea opposed it. Nobody believes Putin’s nonsense - we believe that he is completely insane and may use nuclear weapons so we are afraid to trigger a crazy megalomaniac with nuclear weapons.

If Putin is not stopped by Ukraine, he will not stop at Ukraine but with global nuclear war. Do not lose hope, do not give up the fight!

It has been heartwarming to see the support from sport, film, business,

airlines actively boycotting Putin’s Russia and Lukashenko’s Belarus due to their criminal invasion. They are committing war crimes against humanity by actively targeting civilians, butchering 1000’s of men, women and children and also creating the fastest and what will be the biggest refugee crisis in history. There are 44 million people in Ukraine so things will get a lot worse.

Music is the most important language on the planet. It unites many people and brings us all together. People who have no regard or care for the suffering of Ukrainians, have lost their right to be included in the beautiful world of music. I am very disappointed in the silence from bands, artists, djs and promoters- silence is not an option. It shows support for Putin’s Russia and their aggression, their killing of innocent civilians, the threat of using nuclear weapons, the active targeting of nuclear facilities, their countless crimes against humanity, their genocide as we all sit on the verge of World War III.

I call on all bands, artists, musicians, djs and promoters to boycott Putin’s Russia and not to play, organise concerts or let your music be streamed there, until the Russian people rise up and remove Putin and Russian troops get out of Ukraine. It’s not enough to just cancel gigs. You need to state you are against this racist tyrant.

The Faine Misto festival took place in Ternopil on the 13th, 14th and 15th. All the proceeds were donated by the organizers to the needs of the Azov Regiment.

During the three days of the festival, 18 bands and artists played. Among them are Stas Korolyov, Tember Blanche, Palindrome, The Unsleeping, Omana, Thekomakoma, Violet, Ignea and others.
