Since 1978, Gould Academy has prided itself on offering a highly competitive boys’ lacrosse program that prepares student-athletes for college-level play. Through a combination of strong recruiting, aggressive scheduling, knowledgeable coaching, and superb facilities, Gould Lacrosse is a premiere program in Northern New England. Coaching Philosophy
At Gould, we strive for each member of our team to fulfill his potential as lacrosse players, teammates, students, members of the school community, and global citizens. We believe in hard work, integrity, and pushing ourselves beyond what we think is possible. Rather than teaching set plays, we teach players the concepts and creativity needed to be successful at both the high school and college level. In the end, while we certainly strive to reach a high level of lacrosse skills, knowledge, and competence, our primary goal is to instill the “heart and hustle” required for a champion’s mentality.
Facilities Gould Academy student-athletes enjoy an impressive array of athletic facilities. Schroy Field, a FieldTurf facility installed in 2008, is the dedicated all-weather home of the Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse Team. Moreover, teams have access to three spectacular natural grass fields. All athletes have access to Farnsworth Field House’s fitness facilities, team meeting space, video room, locker rooms, and basketball arena. Sunday River, one of New England’s largest ski resorts, is located less than ten minutes from campus.

College Placement Gould Academy Lacrosse takes pride in strong college placement of 100% of its graduating seniors, many of whom go on to play lacrosse at the college level. Gould student-athletes work closely with the Office of College Counseling and the lacrosse coaching staff throughout the admissions process to ensure positive results and a good college fit. Since 2008, seniors on the Gould Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse team were accepted into the following colleges and universities:

Andrew Leach | Head Lacrosse Coach Coach Leach brings over ten years of experience teaching and mentoring student-athletes at the collegiate and Prep School level. During his career he has recruited and coached many young men that have gone onto to play at schools like St. Johns, Providence College, Virginia Military Institute, Sacred Heart, University of Hartford, Mass-Lowell, Stevenson, Washington College, Endicott College, Western New England University, Springfield College and many more. When not coaching at Gould, Coach Leach still remains active by participating in various lacrosse clinics and camps around the country. He and his wife Essie reside in Davidson Hall on the Gould Academy Campus.
