Dame Louise Henderson was a pioneering abstract artist. She emigrated to New Zealand in 1925 and exhibited with influential art association The Group in the 1930s. By the mid-twentieth century, she was considered one of New Zealand’s leading Modernist painters, embracing the cubism movement. Her work boldly explored colour and form, as she observed people, nature, and life in her paintings.

Gow Langsford Gallery has represented the estate of Dame Louise Henderson since 2021.
