BULLDOG CLUB MEMBERSHIP GUIDE 2009-10
LETTER FROM ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, Mike Roth
Dear Gonzaga Fans,
dynamic the means for ourcoaches coaches to recruit
We wrapped up another fantastic season of Gonzaga Athletics and look toward the future with optimism and anticipation. First of all, I would like to thank you for your active participation in the lives of so many student-athletes. We are lucky to have the support of such a genuine community where supporters surround our athletes with warmth and encouragement on a daily basis. People throughout the nation want to be a part of the Gonzaga experience, and who can blame them? It is a great time to be a Zag, and always is for that matter. Most recently we have seen the men’s basketball team make its 11th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament and the women’s team take its talent to the second round of the tournament. In the past couple of months baseball captured its inaugural West Coast Conference title and won its first NCAA Tournament game since 1980; women’s rowing won its 12th WCC Championship in 13 years and men’s rowing finished 16th in the Intercollegiate Rowing Association Regatta. By investing in these athletic programs, you also invest in the production of our outstanding student-athletes and keep Gonzaga’s winning tradition alive. We value your unwavering support, which keeps our programs afloat, and not just afloat, but thriving even in this delicate economy. Your contributions give us the opportunity to equip our athletes with state-of-theart facilities and dynamic coaches. In turn, you also provide
not just afloat, but thriving
top-notch student-athletes, who are strong physically and mentally. The return on your investment is realized through graduating student-athletes, community outreach and championship titles. With the 2009-10 Bulldog Club Membership Guide we hope to educate you, our valued supporters, about the new Bulldog Club Levels and Benefits for the 2009-10 season, the Priority Points Structure, ticket policies, and other topics relevant to you, the donor. I hope you will consider this piece useful. You will also find a list of important deadlines as well as a directory of our Gonzaga Athletic Development Staff. Please feel free to contact any of the individuals listed in the directory, and they will be happy to answer any questions concerning the BDC Membership Guide. Again, I cannot stress enough how crucial your involvement in Gonzaga Athletics is. It is our goal to serve as sensible stewards of your gifts and gracious beneficiaries of your ongoing dedication. Thank you for all you do to make Gonzaga Athletics great.

2009-10 WHAT IS THE BULLDOG CLUB?
2
What is the Bulldog Club? The Bulldog Club (BDC) is the official annual fundraising organization for Gonzaga Athletics. Gifts to the Bulldog Club allow us to meet our goal of excellence on and off the playing surface by providing funding to address the rising costs associated with competition at the Division I level. Contributions to the BDC assist in offsetting expenses, such as up-to-date training facilities and equipment, team travel, recruiting, the finest coaches, academic support and other essential components that add to Gonzaga’s Division I teams.
With your dedication, Gonzaga can continue to recruit, educate and train the best and brightest student-athletes. The reward comes in knowing you’ve supported the Zag programs in our mission of excellence and outstanding representation of Gonzaga University to the nation.
There is no greater benefit of being an active member of the Bulldog Club than the knowledge that you are providing Gonzaga student-athletes the opportunity to pursue a college education. While our program has flourished through the years, Gonzaga Athletics must have continued support in order to thrive as a force in the WCC as well as on the national scale in the NCAA. Your contributions are important in the effort to attract the best student-athletes and provide them with the unique Gonzaga experience.

Athletic Ticket Policies Athletic Ticket Resale Policy
2009-10 ATHLETIC TICKET POLICIES
10
The Gonzaga Athletic Department does not allow the practice of reselling Gonzaga athletic tickets above face value with the exception of non-profit organizations that auction or raffle the tickets. Based on the aforementioned statement, it is important to define the term “face value.” Simply stated, “the face value of the ticket is the amount printed on the face of the ticket and does not include any amount paid in order to maintain the option of purchasing the tickets or to receive the right to apply for the tickets (i.e. Arena Building Partners Fund, Bulldog Club annual contributions, etc.).” If you are caught scalping or reselling Gonzaga Athletic tickets, the athletic department may terminate your season tickets or individual game tickets. Termination of your tickets during the basketball season may result in the following: ● The ticket(s) will be cancelled effective immediately and the bar codes will be deactivated for that game and all future games. ● Ticket purchaser’s license for buying game tickets will terminate and not be re-offered for the remainder of the season. You are personally responsible for your season tickets. Please keep this in mind when distributing your tickets to others. In the event that someone who is in possession of your tickets scalps or resells them, your season ticket holder status may be detrimentally affected. The specific rules and regulations associated with and governing the season and individual game tickets are set forth in detail in the following places: (i) on the backside of the ticket renewal form; and (ii) on Gonzaga Athletics’ official Web site (www.gozags.com).
Ticket Transferability
The opportunity to renew season tickets is a privilege granted by the Gonzaga Athletic Department. Season ticket renewal privilege is extended only to the name(s) printed on the season ticket invoice and may, at Gonzaga University’s sole discretion, only be transferred in the event of death to the surviving spouse or children of that season ticket holder.
To transfer renewal privileges to children upon the death of a season ticket holder a written document signed by the executor of the estate must be submitted to the Gonzaga Athletic Ticket Office. A transfer to children requires that the child assume the ticket cost and continue to contribute at the required donation level and begin accumulating his/her own priority points. Priority points are not transferable. In the event of a divorce, seats may be divided among ex-spouses if both individuals agree and submit a written document signed by both parties. Seats must remain in pairs unless there are single seats available. Season tickets may be transferred from corporations or partnerships to individuals. The transfer must be to members of that corporation or partnership and must be completed by the principal executive of said corporation. When the tickets are transferred, the individual must assume the ticket cost and continue to contribute at the required donation level and begin accumulating his/her own priority points. Priority points are not transferable. The Gonzaga Athletic Department reserves the right to deny the request to transfer on a case-by-case basis.
Payment for Tickets / Season Ticket Invoicing and Ticket Distribution
Your season ticket renewal will be mailed to you in early July. The signed document along with season ticket payment is due by Sept. 1. Accepted forms of payments include MasterCard or Visa, check, cash or money order. To insure the integrity of your account, we will only accept payments from the season ticket holder of record, his or her spouse, or legal representative. You can expect to receive your season tickets 2-3 weeks prior to the first scheduled home game. Season tickets that have not been renewed by the Sept. 1 deadline are considered late. Tickets not renewed by Sept. 15 are subject to seat relocation. Tickets not renewed by Oct. 1 will be permanently forfeited. Gonzaga reserves the right to move seat locations slightly in order not to leave single seats open. Season tickets will not be released until season ticket payment and either required donation or pledge paperwork with signature have been received by the Gonzaga Athletic Department. Minimum season ticket donation requirements that have not been received by the April 15 deadline are considered late. Season
New and Additional Season Tickets
All new season tickets requests are combined with any additional season ticket requests from current season ticket holders, then sorted
by BDC Priority Point ranking to determine the order in which customers will be contacted. New and additional season tickets are made available based on current fans releasing their seats. Attrition is traditionally extremely low; therefore obtaining new or additional season tickets may be difficult. Please keep the following points in mind when making a new or additional season ticket request: 1. All new season ticket and additional season ticket requests will be combined then sorted by BDC Priority Point ranking to determine the order of opportunity. 2. To request new or additional season tickets, you must be a member of the BDC (minimum annual fund donation of $250). 3. Requests must be made online prior to Sept. 1. 4. Each year you must submit a new request for new or additional season tickets. Requests are not carried over from year to year. 5. New or additional season tickets requests will be based on availability and only those selected for seats will be contacted. To be placed on the waitlist for new or additional Gonzaga Men’s Basketball season tickets, to you must: 1. Be a member of the Bulldog Club at the minimum level of at least $250 by Sept. 1. 2. Fill-out an online waitlist request at www.gozags.com/tickets. All requests must be received by Sept. 15. Please note that all requests will be subject to the maximum seat allowances based on Priority Point accumulation: • 250pts – 999pts = 2 season tickets • 1000+ points = 4 season tickets All season ticket allocations are subject to the availability of seats. Seat Upgrades Seating upgrades are based on current season ticket holders releasing their seats. Attrition is traditionally extremely low;
therefore, seating improvements may be difficult. Please keep the following points in mind when making a seat improvement request: 1. All season ticket upgrade requests are sorted by Priority Point ranking to determine the order in which customers will be contacted. (Note: The number of years requesting improvement has no bearing and requests are not carried over from year-to-year.) 2. Requests for seating changes should be made in writing and should be attached to your season ticket renewal application prior to the season ticket renewal deadline. (Note: Please notate your understanding and willingness to accept additional required contribution if your request is to move into a section of higher annual donation.) 3. Please make requests as specific as possible and include multiple acceptable options. If possible, use specific sections, rows and seat numbers in your request. 4. Each year you must submit a request for seat upgrades. Requests are not carried over from year-to-year and are not based on the number of years requesting upgrades. 5. In order to be considered for an upgrade, season ticket accounts must be paid in full by the renewal deadline and required annual contribution paid or a signed pledge agreement on file. 6. Seat upgrades will be based on availability and only those season ticket holders whose seats can be moved will be contacted (all other requests will retain the same seats as the previous year as long as payment is received by the deadline). 7. Your seats will not be automatically relocated based on your request. Season ticket holders will be contacted by a Gonzaga Athletic representative before seats are relocated. 8. Each request is reviewed, but the volume of requests does not make personal consultation feasible for every person. Season ticket holders will be notified by mail or e-mail if their request cannot be filled.
Neutral Site and Away Game Seating
As is the case for any Gonzaga game played outside of the McCarthey Athletic Center, the opponent or promoter of each game determines the location of all our seats. Gonzaga utilizes its Priority Points System to extend an invitation to buy tickets as well as assign the seats received from the opponent or promoter.
ATHLETIC TICKET POLICIES
ticket donation requirements not received by May 15 will subject season ticket holders to seat relocation. Season tickets will be permanently forfeited if donation requirements are not received by May 31.

FAQs 2009-10 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
12
Why should I give? Because Gonzaga student-athletes need your support; one of the many sources of pride for Gonzaga fans is the high level of success enjoyed by each program. That level of success would not be possible without the support offered to more than 300 student-athletes at Gonzaga. Annual giving is what keeps Gonzaga Athletics moving forward.
Does my donation to the BDC help all sports? Yes, contributions to the BDC assist in off-setting expenses such as up-to-date training facilities and equipment, team travel, recruiting, the finest coaches, academic support programs and other essential components to support all of Gonzaga’s Division I teams.
Is my donation tax deductible? Yes. According to the Internal Revenue Code, if your annual contribution is required as a result of obtaining or retaining basketball season tickets, 80 percent of the total amount of your contribution may be deducted as a charitable contribution for income tax purposes. It is always prudent to consult with your tax advisor when determining the deductibility of gifts.
Can gifts be directed to a specific sport? Yes, any gift to Gonzaga Athletics is appreciated, but an annual gift with no restrictions, such as a gift to the Bulldog Club is preferred. These gifts can be allocated to our greatest needs. However, sport-specific gifts do not count toward the fulfillment of your BDC or any ticket requirements. How can I get season tickets to Gonzaga men’s basketball? To be considered for men’s basketball season tickets, you must be a Bulldog Club member at the $250 level or higher. Once a member, you must be added to the season ticket waitlist by filling out the online form at www.gozags/tickets. New season tickets are allocated based on Priority Point ranking of those on the waitlist. This process must be followed each year (i.e. if you do not receive tickets this year, you must donate to the BDC as well as fill out information for the waitlist next year). For immediate access to mbb season tickets, please contact a member of the Athletic Development staff for information regarding making a significant major gift.
I signed up for the season ticket waitlist last year (or in previous years); do I need to sign up again? Yes, beginning this year we will begin to purge the waitlist on an annual basis. That means you must sign up for the waitlist each year in order to be considered for men’s basketball season tickets.
I already have season tickets, are my seats automatically upgraded or relocated? No, to be considered for seat relocation you must request so each year until your request is fulfilled. Seat relocation will be based on Priority Point ranking of all current season ticket holders requesting relocation. To request seat relocation please visit www.gozags.com/tickets.
Can I still get tickets to a men’s basketball game without being a season ticket holder? Yes, if there are individual game tickets returned by the visiting team or if Gonzaga University students and faculty/staff do not use their ticket allotment. To be eligible to purchase individual game tickets you must be a minimum $250 supporter of the BDC.
An e-mail will go out each Tuesday before home game concerning availability. Eligible members can call into the Athletic Ticket Office at 509-313-6000on Wednesdays, the week of home basketball games, beginning at 9 a.m. to purchase single-game tickets while supplies last. How do I get tickets to away and post season games? The allotment of tickets we receive for away and post season games does not afford Gonzaga Athletics the opportunity to accommodate all ticket requests. The allotment of tickets will be offered by invitation only, based upon the Priority Points System.
