2 UNIT SOCIETY AND CULTURE

Society and Culture is a subject based firmly in the modern world. It aims to develop students who are socially and culturally literate. This means students who are able to understand their own culture and how it interacts with other cultures in everyday life.

Students engage with current social issues in an informed and empathetic way, developing critical discernment of the media and other agents of change within our society. Students are encouraged to link their learning to their own personal experiences and interactions with current culture through their use of media, art, music, film and other cultural mediums.

This is a great subject for students who wish to work in a role that involves regular interactions with other people from law, management, politics and business through to journalism and the creative arts.
