QSAC Emergency Evacuation Procedures QSAC GRANDSTANDS - KESSELS ROAD , NATHAN
FIRE WARNING SYSTEM
EVACUATION PROCEDURES When instructions are given or on hearing the Alert tone ‘BARP BARP’ you must prepare for an evacuation.
The Emergency Warning System for the Western Grandstand is controlled at the Fire Control Centre located in the Main Entry Foyer. This system can be activated automatically by the fire detection system (smoke and heat detectors or fire sprinklers) or manually by the QSAC Venue Management Staff.
The event controller is to announce that all activities should be held up until further notice and that Supervising Staff are to return to their School’s marshalling area.
In the event of an emergency requiring action on the part of the public then a PA announcement and the sounding of the Alert tone ‘BARP BARP’ will occur.
The Event Controller will receive and or provide further directions from the Chief Fire Warden via the 2 way radio provided.
Should an evacuation be ordered the sound you will hear is ‘WHOOP WHOOP’. All persons having a portable intercom will (under normal circumstances) be given instruction over the hand piece prior to any public announcement.
ANY ADVICE THE PUBLIC REQUIRE WILL BE GIVEN OVER THE BROADCAST SYSTEM.
TO CALL FIRE BRIGADE DIAL 000 or MOBILE 112
When the order to evacuate is given or when hearing the Evacuation tone ‘WHOOP WHOOP’. The Event Controller is to announce that an evacuation of the Grandstands is required and that all persons are to move directly through the gates, away to clear open space as indicated on the plan as an Assembly Area. (The playing field can only be considered an Assembly Area as an alternate if directed by the Chief Fire Warden.)
UNAUTHORISED PERSONS NOT TO RE-ENTER THE STADIUM UNTIL THE FIRE BRIGADE ADVISE IT IS SAFE TO DO.
