Concept

Harmony Rock-N-ROLL Design Statement:

To provide an interactive work environment that ensures the spirit of ROCK-N-ROLL. The ROCK-N-ROLL spirit embraces the individual characteristic of people and encourages out the box thinking while contributing to the success of the Fender family. Fender firmly believes that employee interaction and teamwork at all levels is essential to the companies success. The striving energy of the company will be reflexes in finishes and set a mood that excites guests and employee to be in the space. To create a space that encourages interaction, informal gathering areas will be implemented into the space planning in high circulation zones. Finishes will reflex the modern and old school days of Fender to remind everyone how far they have grown and how they are going to continue to strive in the future.

Building Analysis & As Built

The Atrium I Office Building is a Type II-B three story traditional brick clad building featureing a central open air atrium in the heart of the Denver Technological center corporate complex on I-25. The DTC is nationally recognized as one of the country’s premier business centers and forms the gateway to Denver’s southeast business corridor. The atrium building’s full height atrium takes up the interior of the bilding and is open to above allowing natural light into the thrid floor space and offering glimpses of native Colorado birds, trees and flowers.

Problem Statements Form: How can the space enable all the natural day lighting possible? To design a space that takes the most advantage of day lighting an open floor plan with translucent walls will have to be used. Function: How can a work environment be fun and encourage interaction but still assist employees in getting their work completed? A fun and interactive environment that encourages employees to work can be achieved by By incorporating entertaining aspects into the work space reminds the employee that interaction is encouraged and to not be discouraged from enjoying their work. To encourage interaction gathering spots with high contrast to the work environment will be placed through out the plan, Economy: Will the purchased systems furniture still be reliable in 10 years? Herman Miller systems furniture is made with the environment in mind and tries to use durable and sustainable products that will outlast the test of time. Time: Does the space planning allow for future updates to be easily expanded upon as technology advances the design and business world? Achieved by having appropriate sized spaces that will also fulfill the needs of the future. Spaces that are open and flexible re insures the client that future reconfiguration can be easily achieved.
